JAI #604 CASE of Yourself

Hello everyone and welcome! It's Friday again and over half way through May already. The year is positively flying by and the colder, darker mornings are definitely feeling like Winter is on its way.

It's time for a new challenge week at Just Add Ink and we ask that you would add a CASE of yourself. This is the time to dig out your own crafty efforts and look to improve/ update a card you've made previously. The design team have created a fabulous array of cards to inspire you and I hope that you can pop on over to the blog and have a look and we'd love you to join us.

I decided to CASE the card I made for JAI 3604 that you can see here. So I created two cards that are very similar in layout but I changed the background mainly to use a white on white background of die cuts and changed the floral colours on the left and the sentiment on the right.

A little pink and cold combo with the green here and leaf details to compliment the die cut leaves adn flower.

And this one I've added a sentiment to a green in the papers and again the same die cut images to the background.

Sometimes, you don't need to change a lot about a card to make another version of it. And when you have the supplies out it is the perfect time to consider a back up card of similar proportions.

Thanks for popping by today and I hope that you can pop on over to Just Add Ink and we'd love you to join in the challenge too!!

JAI #602 Choose Two Birthday

It's the first Friday in May and it feels a lot more like Winter in Melbourne today than Autumn. It is definitely time to get out the Winter woollies, coats and boots. It is also time to take a peek at the new Stamping Up Annual Catalog and all the gorgeous goodies to get the creative juices flowing.

This week its time for our Choose Two Challenge at Just Add Ink and Kerry has set us a fabulous one: Choose Two out of Stencilling, Heat Embossing or Texture Paste. This gives such a lot of options and there is so much lovely variation in the Design Team projects this week and I hope that you can pop on over to the Challenge blog and get excited to join us!

I chose to use the lovely Artistically Inked set that has mede it into the new Catalogue - far too beautiful to be left out yet! And for my Challenge items, I chose Texture Paste and Stencilling - and stencilled using the Shimmery Embossing Paste which does give such a pretty sparkle in real life.

For colours I've used the gorgeous Fresh Freesia and the dark and moody Evening Evergreen and spiced it up with a few gold touches and white/ pink  sequins.

It's Clean and Simple whilst the textured white on white background adds a little extra elegance - or that was the plan. You can be the judge!
