Signs of Santa for JAI #432

Yes, it's another happy Friday and we are now almost 2/3 the way through Spring already! Where has the year gone?! Everything in the garden is growing - the flowers, the veggies and yes, also the weeds but it is a sure sign the weather is slowly but surely getting warmer. 😊

It's also time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink . This week the lovely Patrice has suggested a fun Choose Two out of Buttons, Bows or Bling challenge for us all to use in our crafting this week. The options are almost as open as your imagination and we hope that you will enjoy this one as much as the design team did! We hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to see the fabulous variation the team has come up with to inspire you and hopefully join us.

So here we go, my first Christmas card of 2018!! Not a moment too soon either given it's almost November already πŸ˜‰For my items, I chose Bows and Bling. The presents have the bows and the bling is in the silver glimmer snow flakes and backing layer. The images are all cut from the stunning Santa's Workshop DSP. This pretty special paper pack has images that fit into the Framelits - so no need to colour unless you want to.  The only stamping is "North Pole" on the sign and the sentiment.

And there is a fabulous flocking effect on all of the pages - the striped base layer for example has white "flocking" stripes and so is Santa's hat pom pom and the signs and more and more.... A beautiful textural effect perfect for the visually impaired or any child or child like adult to enjoy πŸ˜€

The background layer is water coloured lightly with Pool Party and then for good measure and extra bling, a little Wink of Stella is flicked over it too.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see the gorgeous inspiration from all the design team and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this fun challenge too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Masculine Broadway for JAI #431

Happy Friday everyone and welcome back again! We are almost half way through Spring  and the garden is looking fantastic! The native Bottle Brush trees are starting to bloom, the flowers are out and the bees are buzzing....truly a wonderful time of year πŸ˜€

Also wonderful, is the new challenge at Just Add Ink! This week we have a fun sketch designed for us all to use by Tina. Sketches are great as they hint at a ready made design and you just need to fit images into the different areas. Our lovely design team have all created fabulous cards to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and join us.

Yes, I am a bit taken by this stamp set currently πŸ˜€This time the Hooray is embossed in black and then Gold and the two smaller sentiments are also part of the set. The papers are from the co ordinating suite and the gold touches on them are rather fabulous in real life.

And here you may be able to see the full effect of the two embossing sentiment layers.

Broadway Petals for JAI # 430

Happy Friday and welcome! With Daylight Savings having started last weekend it really is beginning to feel like Spring πŸ˜€

This week at Just Add Ink we have this soft and pretty floral image that Rochelle has suggested that we use in our projects this week. You can take what ever pops out at you from the image - the different flowers, colours and textures - whatever appeals to you! As always, our lovely and talented team have a fabulous array of projects to inspire you so I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over and we'd love to have you join us.

We are blessed that with SU we have so many floras to choose from and for my card I chose to make a bit of a wreath effect using Petal Palatte. I have fallen for the Broadway Birthday Wish die cut and so here it is again 😁The hand written apprearance of the script pairs beautifully with the arty flowers  from Petal Palette.

The background is painted using an Aqua Painter mixing Pool Party and a little Pacific Point and with some soft flicks of Silver Wink of Stella to add to the sparkles too. And the flowers with Watercolor Pencils.

Card stock: Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist, Silver Glimmer

Painted Glass for JAI #429

Hello and happy Friday to you! It's now October and half way through Spring already!! Just where does the time go I wonder as I'm sure the days are coming along quicker than they used to! πŸ˜€

But first and foremost, it is time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink. Where Di has suggested that we add Vellum as the main focus of our projects this week. Vellum is such a versatile medium - you can use it soften bright colours under it, colour on it to produce a translucent effect and it layers ever so beautifully too! As always, our lovely design team have created a wide variety of gorgeous cards to inspire you so I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over and join us 😊

Vellum can be a little difficult to photograph but hopefully you can see here that I decided to colour on it using a mixture of Stampin Blends and Copic markers.  The lovely Painted Glass Suite includes a pack of images and patterns on vellum card stock and that is what I have used here. Seeing as it is such a pretty scene, I used all the window framelits in the set to literally frame it too.

And to finish the card, a rose was stamped and coloured and added on top with the sentiment and a sprinkle of sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the inspiration from our lovely team and I look forward to seeing what you will create with Vellum this week too.

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan
