More Butterfly Colours

A very happy Monday to you! Today is a lovely warm 21 degrees - its so nice to see the sun and  the trees in blossom!
Today's card was made using the same design as my Just Add Ink card and is for a friend's birthday :-)

The base is Watermelon Wonder - my favourite of the new In Colours. And it is paired with some Pool Party and Basic Grey for a little contrast. I must admit I do like the "stripes" of colour to the side :-)

Designer Series paper: Neutrals and Subtle's Stacks
Inks: Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, Versamark
Stamps: Watercolor Wings, Crazy About You

Just Add A Colour Combo JAI # 281

Happy Friday to you - the first three weeks of Spring have gone so fast!!  It is wonderful to watch the garden bursting into happy blooms and the summer veggies  planted last weekend are all growing well too :-)

And it's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week Di  has asked us to Just Add Your Favourite Three Colours. So what are your favourite three colours? We would love to see!

I love the idea of this challenge - and so fun - use your favourites!! And then I realised I had too many favourite colours lol! I love pinks and corals and blues but thought might be a little bright all together! So I chose a favourite butterfly combo: Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise and Silver. Silver is one of my all time faves and the Turquoise is a new but growing one :-)

This DSP is from the Neutral Stack and has a real but subtle shine to the silver stripes that is beautiful! The background is created with the long" dotty" stamp in the set stamped repeatedly in Soft Sky with a little masking for shaping.

Card stock: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White (Thick), Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer, Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: Neutral's Stack (Silver), Subtle's Stack (Soft Sky)
Inks: Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, Versamark
Stamps: Watercolor Wngs, Crazy About You
Accessories: Big Shot, Bold Butterfly Framelits, White EP, Triple Banner Punch, Iced Rhinestones, Basic Rhinestones, Silver Metallic Thread

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment and pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the wonderful creations the Team have made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you will create with your Favourite Three Colourthis week too!

Tic Tac Toe PCCC #163

Welcome to Wednesday and that means it's time for a new sketch from The Paper Craft Crew. Wait - no that's not quite right!! Starting this week we will be introducing a NEW challenge once each month that ISN'T a sketch!!  So exciting!! Don't worry - there will still be plenty of sketches for you but also an opportunity for a little variety too. And this week we are kicking it all off with a Tic Tac Toe Challenge. The Team have created a lovely variety of cards to inspire you so do take a moment to pop over to have a look!

Here are the Tic Tac Toe choices:

Such a lot of variety here to choose from :-)

For my card I went with the Right hand side - but you'd already guessed that right? :-)
The base card is Island Indigo and then another layer of Indigo is embossed with the Boho Chic EF and then cut and popped up on dimensionals- leaving space for the white greeting panel to lay flat between the popped up layers. Such a simple design but looks really effectives especially in real life and hopefully will bring a little comfort to a friend who is grieving the sudden loss of her Dad.

Card stock: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Gold Foil
Inks: Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, Versamark
Stamps: Watercolor Wings, A Dozen Thoughts
Accessories: Big Shot, Bold Butterfly Framelits, Boho Chic EF, Gold EP, Gold Metallic Thread, Metal Rimmed Pearls, Metallic Sequins Assortment

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop over to The Paper Craft Crew and see what the Team have made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you will create for this week's Tic Tac Toe challenge!

Happy stamping until next time,

JAI #280 Just Add Glimmer

Welcome to a lovely Friday in Melbourne! We have a fabulous new challenge at Just Add Ink to inspire your weekend crafting! This week Nikki has suggested we "Just Add Glimmer". Such a fabulous challenge - I just love bling - don't you too?! The Team have made absolutely stunning creations to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment and pop over and have a look :-)

I was inspired to make this special Christmas card. Mostly, my Christmas cards are kept relatively CAS with a little bling - as is easier to replicate and post. But every year I make a few extra special ones and hand made Ornaments for my siblings and their families. (There are 4 of us).  It started a few years back and has quickly become a fun tradition as we all get a little surprise each year to add to the Christmas tree on top of the usual gifts for children etc. So there will be a separate ornament to go with this card too.

It's hard to see but there is some gold snowflake Vellum in the background and there is a base. I combined two Tutorials into one from Splicoaststampers: the Tent card and Suspension card  and adapted the measurements for this 13cm square one and despite all the dimension it can still lie flat for posting.  I used 6 die cuts and some Metallic Gold Thread to do the suspending and suggest using a STRONG adhesive to hold it in place.

Card stock: Real Red, Whisper White (Thick), Gold Glimmer
Designer Series Paper: Winter Wonderland Vellum Stack
Ink: Real Red
Stamp: Embellished Ornaments
Accessories: Big Shot, Delicate Ornaments Thinlits, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Circle Framelits, Gently Falling EF, Home for Christmas Enamel Dots, Metallic Gold Thread, Sticky Strip (Retired), Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see the wonderful creations the Team have made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you create with Glimmer this week too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Peace JAI #279

Welcome to a lovely Friday - I just love Spring - the Cherry Trees are in blossom, the garden is starting to flourish and the daffodils are nearly out :-) It will be 20 degrees today for the first time since May and so a trip to the Garden Nursery for summer veggies is not far away :-)

It's also time for a fun new challenge at Just Add Ink! This week Narelle has suggested a lovely sketch for us all to use. I hope you can take a moment and pop over and see what our wonderfully talented Team have made to inspire you :-)

Here is the sketch:

Such a fabulous sketch :-)
Here is my card:

I have taken a little artistic licence with the circle element of the sketch but hopefully you can still see it in my card. I was excited to try a 3D tree with these fabulous new framelits that have just arrived:-) There are 4 stamped trees to give it some dimension and the background is from the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum stack - so sparkly in real life!

The simple "peace" greeting is cut from the new Thick Whisper White card stock -  it is so much stronger and indeed thicker -  perfect for die cutting from as the words hold their shape and have a little extra height too. Definitely a favourite already :-)

Card stock: Pool Party, Gold Foil, Whisper White (Thick)
Designer Series Paper: Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack
Ink: Pear Pizzaz
Stamps: Peaceful Pines
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Pines Framelits, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Triple Banner Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (star).

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment and pop on over to Just Add Ink and see the fabulous creations our Team have made to inspire you! And I look forward to seeing what you will create with this lovely sketch this week too :-)

You're Sublime PCCCSC #161

Welcome to a chilly Wednesday in Melbourne. The cherry trees are in blossom, the pretty (but hay fever alerting ) native Wattle is out but not the sun - well it has been in hiding today anyway. Apparently it is on it's way and we will have a lovely and warm weekend. I can hardly wait :-)

In the mean time it is time for a new sketch from The Paper Craft Crew. The Team have created a great variety of cards to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and have a look.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Yes, one for the kiddies this week!! I am compiling a package of cards for a friend's birthday and she will need a few for children so that was my starting point  - the oval reminded me of the cute submarine :-) Yellow, as the song goes too with a little grey definition to go with the silver details and a lot of fussy cutting - including all the little fishes and hearts which were water coloured onto Thick White card and cut out when dry…quite fiddly but worth it. The oval behind is water washed with Pool Party ink and the clear, bubble like sequins are from the fun Metallic Sequins Assortment :-)

Card stock: Pool Party, Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Whisper White (thick), Silver Foil
Ink: Black Stazon, Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Basic Grey, Versamark
Stamps: You're Sublime, Gorgeous Grunge
Accessories: Big Shot, Deco Label Framelits, Star Framelits, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (star), Wide Oval Punch, White EP, Metallic Sequin Assortment

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to The Paper Craft Crew and see all the fabulous cards the Team have made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this sketch this week!

Happy stamping until next time,

You've Got This JAI #278 Inspiration

It's here!!Yay!! The first week of Spring has arrived with a couple of truly gorgeous and sunny days. It is so lovely to wake up to sunshine even though it's been a little cooler today. The promise of a long hot summer ahead is sounding good - apparently this has been Melbourne's coldest Winter in 26 years so no wonder we've been complaining lol!

And we have a new challenge for you at Just Add Ink. This week Nikki  has suggested these fantastic photos for us to use as inspiration. Our talented Team have created truly wonderful cards to inspire you this week so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and see.

A floral sea of colour - exactly what we have to look forward to seeing in Spring and then Summer :-)

The smaller picture with it's layered beauties is what first jumped out at me and decided the stamp set I would use. What is the first thing that you see in these photos? With this challenge you can take as much as you like from them :-)

I started by water colouring the peonies in both Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral inks using an Aqua Painter on the Shimmery White Card stock. Its hard to see but the shimmer is quite gorgeous in real life. I used the same card for the top layer using So Saffron ink stamped off once to create a simple background and fill in the "sea" as per the photo.

Card stock: Calypso coral, Blackberry Bliss, Shimmery White, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper: Moonlight Stack (Retired)
Inks: Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, So Saffron, Stazon Black
Stamps: You've Got This, Tin of Cards
Accessories: Big Shot, Triple Banner Punch, Basic Rhinestones
Non Stampin Up : Stitched Fishtail Dynamics Dies (MFT)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment and pop on over to Just Add Ink and see the fabulous creations the Team have made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you create with these photos too!

Happy stamping until next time,
