# Socially @

Good evening and what a lovely day it has been here in Melbourne! This morning started with grey skies as Sally and I went for a walk in the Park - she is doing so well these days and we managed our usual 11/2 laps of the Park ( 2 football fields make up one lap ). Before her surgery we were down to only half a lap so it is so encouraging to see her doing so much better and enjoying life again!  And then this afternoon the sun came out and we had a warm 24 degrees (Celsisu) which was perfect timing as I had a friend come over to help with the annual steam clean of the carpets….so always good to have warm weather for drying :-)

And of course, being Wednesday, it is time for a new sketch from The Paper Craft Crew :-) I do hope you have time to check out all the great creations by the Design Team this week.

This was one of those sketches that I knew exactly what I wanted to make as soon as I saw it :-)
I hope you like it!

Yes, indeed - time to get with @ for all of the socially connected….and no, sorry, I haven't quite found the need for Twitter yet - of Face Book for that matter but doesn't the @ in this stamp look so intriguing?! One day, I may well learn the in's and out's of Tweeting, but in the meantime there will always be stamping LOL :-)

Birthday King (CASE)

Welcome to a wonderful Monday :-) These days I'm not so sure when some say they "Don't like Mondays" ( although I love the song!!) Mondays are often one of my quietest days of the week and so usually a good day for some paper crafting and today is no exception :-)  After taking our Sally for a lovely walk at the park in the warm sunshine  - and the walks are getting a little longer as her health improves and that is good for both of us :-) -  it was time to CASE a card as this is one I think my brother would love for his birthday.
The original card that inspired this is by Justin Krieger and can be seen here. I loved the mixes of the gold and silver foil on the original although I chose to use all gold for my card…mainly though  - I have to admit   -- because I am running low on the silver for now ;-)

So here is my card:

A masculine card with plenty of bling!
The small background is stamped with Gorgeous Grunge using the Gold Encore ink and the greeting is from a retired set and is embossed with gold EP and is so much more visible in real life….. The four gold segments of the crown are also topped with some red sequins. So the basis of my card is the same as Justin's but I always like to try and put my own spin on any card I CASE :-)

Card stock: Basic Black, Gold Foil
Inks: Encore Gold, Versamark
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Feeling Sentimental (Retired)
Accessories: Red sequins (Non-SU)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great week and don't suffer from any "Monday-itis"  today ;-)

Happy stamping until next time.

White Christmas

Good afternoon! This week I have been taking it easy after a busy week last week and it has been a good thing to do. But now it is time to share with you again - on this wonderful Wednesday -  and time for another sketch from The Paper Craft Crew.

When I first saw this sketch I knew I wanted to create a scene using the White Christmas stamp set (it's first inking) and highlight part of the scene. The square frame seems to be one of the On Film framelits to me but here in Australia our standard card sizes are slightly different and i didn't think that it would fit and so instead I used the smaller film frame….

The black on red greeting is much clearer in real life too….

The DSP is from the All is Calm pack and that influenced the colour choices - except for the red of course!! I stamped the trees image in Momento Tuxedo Black and then used a Coastal Cabana Blendabilities marker to highlight the "ground" lines and under the tree. The two little birds are actually cut out by hand and added with some dimensionals as is the little snowman. I coloured the red Rhinestones with a blend abilities marker and both of the Banners were punched out and the Silver glimmer one just shortened with a pair of paper snips :-)

Card stock: Pool Party, Real Red, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
DSP: All is Calm
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Cherry cobbler and Coastal Caban blendabilities markers
Stamps: White Christmas
Accessories: Big Shot, On Film Framelits, Stars Framelits, Banner Punch, Hexagon punch, Basic Rhinestones, Frosted Sequins

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have time to check out all the great ideas from the Paper Craft Crew team this week and maybe you might be the next to enter!

Happy stamping until next time,

Flower patch birthday

Today I had lunch with an old friend I haven't seen in a few years because we simply lost touch and today when we met for a coffee it was so nice and also so easy to sit and talk. So it has been a lovely day!
And I have a card to share that I made a few weeks ago and have been waiting to arrive and now that it has I can share it with you :-) This was a card I CASED from one I saw while on a google search….strangely now, when I have looked several times in an effort to credit the original it is no longer able to be found. I did change colours and embellishments but as you who regularly view my blog know, I do like to give credit if I case a card but this time it seems that won't be possible unfortunately.

So here is my card:

The card base is Bermuda Bay and the white piece of card on top is first cut to sit just inside the full front card size. Next I stamped the larger images from Flower Patch onto the white piece of card and put it into the Big Shot with the co-ordinating framelits but I placed the top Plate of the machine only half way along the images - therefore cutting only where the plate is in contact with the card and framelits. I used some paper snips to but from the outside in to lose half the piece of cut out card around the flowers. Next I layered the other images from the set and also stamped the Make a Wish in Bermuda Bay and also in Momento Tuxedo black. the leaves behind the flowers are stamped separately and cut out and added behind the flower. Then, by lining up the white piece of stamped card with the outside of the base I used my paper trimmer to help me trim the Bermuda Baby layer back.
Instead of ribbon, I chose to use some of the lovely Gold Sequin Trim and add some Strawberry twine to help give it some colour boldness too :-0
For the inside, the beautiful Designer Vellum, gold specialty paper is first put onto a piece of white card before being attached to the base of the card. And the message is written on the back of the front piece of card…

Card stock: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Crushed Curry
Inks: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Pink Piroutte, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizazz, Crushed Curry
Stamps: Flower Patch, Perfect Pennants
Access: Big Shot, Flower Fair, Gold sequin trim, Designer Vellum - gold, Strawberry Slush twine, Basic rhinestones

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today, I hope you have a great week!

Happy stamping until next time,

Well worded birthday

Today has been a typical Melbourne day - fours seasons in one day is what we are famous for and that describes today well. Started with Sunshine, and quite warm by lunch time, then a cool change that brought a heavy shower or two and now the sun is out again..never boring that's for sure :-)
And now, as it's Wednesday it is time for a new sketch at the Paper Craft Crew.

Quite a classic sketch this week and the Team have many variations to inspire you so I do hope you can take a moment to check them out. Here is my card:

I kept pretty close to the sketch this week and just changed the 3 circles to chevrons but otherwise not that different :-)
The fun cake image got it's first inking and is also raised with some dimensionals it is from the fun Well Worded stamp set that also features some moustaches among other things!

Card stock: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Moonlight Stack
Inks: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Sahara Sand
Stamps: Well Worded, Four You, Just Sayin'
Accessories: Big Shot, Word Bubble Framelits, Chevron Border punch, Hexagon punch, Gold Sequin Trim, Hemp Twine (retired)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I do hope you have time to check out all the great inspiration at the Paper Craft Crew and I look forward to seeing what you create this week too!

Just feathers

Good evening and welcome to the end of another School Holiday period and the beginning of Daylight Savings! I so love the start of Daylight Savings as for me it heralds those long and warm summer evenings that we are all so looking forward to :-)
Today I wanted to create a thank you card and also have a play with my newish Four Feathers stamp set. As usual I had the card idea before I sat down to create it and in this case I think it turned out a little better than I had imagined it!

The card base is Bermuda Bay and I decided to keep the colour palate quite gender neutral for this one adding some Smoky Slate for the other feather and background. And just also to help highlight the feathers I've added some of the beautiful All is Calm Washi tape and topped the feathers' base with Coastal Cabana twine bow.

Card stock: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Inks: Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate
Stamps: Four Feathers, A Dozen Thoughts, Gorgeous Grunge
Accessories: Big Shot, Feathers Framelits, All Is Calm Designer Washi Tape, Coastal Cabana Twine, Silver Sequins (Non-SU)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today and I hope that you are having a great week whatever you have planned and whatever the weather in your part of the world!

Happy stamping until next time,

Baby Girl Shaker for JAI

Welcome to the day before World Card Making Day!! Yes, it's that time of year again….crazy amounts of card making…no, its not Christmas (tho nearly!!) It's the day before WCMD so yes there are a few cards on the table. Unfortunately though,  I am not holding a special event tomorrow but am looking at getting together with some friends a little later in the week. So in the meantime I have a card to share with you that I have made for some old friends - who are celebrating being new grandparents :-) We often make new baby cards for parents but it is an exciting time for all the family of course -and  especially first time grandparents too :-)
And guess what the challenge this week is at Just Add Ink? Yes, that's right: "Just add Baby"…or in this case, just add baby shaker :-)

Oh another shaker card I hear you say…but yes - isn't this the ideal kind of baby card? And a good way of making it special I think :-) And Grandma IS a card making friend of mine after all….!!

The card base is some Pink Pirouette and then I stamped the pram image from the Something For Baby stamp in the centre of the white card and cut out with the co-ordinating framelits. I added some Window Sheet to the underside of the white and used a couple of the Shaker Frame circle adhesives to make the frame. I just snip one side of these little circles and remove the backing and they are so mouldable to any shape then. For the shaken goodies I used the Confetti Stars punch and punched out different coloured card stock including silver Glimmer and added some silver sequins for some added bling.
Next the letters were cut using framelits and Crystal Effects to the two Bbs and they were left overnight to dry.

And the cute little bunny teddy is coloured with Blendabilities markers too :-)

Card stock: Pink Pirouette,Whisper white, Strawberry Slush, Silver Glimmer
Inks: Pink Pirouette, Tuxedo Momento Black, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities, Strawberry Slush (marker)
Stamps: Something For Baby, Baby We've Grown
Accessories: Big Shot, Baby's Firsts Framelits, Large Polka Dots EF, Window Sheets, Shaker Frames, Confetti Stars Punch, Timeless type Alphabet Sizlits (Retired), Crystal Effects

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have time to go and check out all the great inspiration from the Team at Just Add Ink today and maybe you too might be the next to enter :-)

Happy stamping until next time,

Gorgeous Grunge for the Paper Craft Crew

With today being the first of October it is good to take a moment to notice those other things besides temperature that signal the arrival of Spring - the most wonderful is the extra hours of daylight with the sun rising earlier and setting later in the day. It makes such a difference don't you think? and this coming weekend we will begin the Daylight Saving period which is always hard for the first day or so but really is so worth it in the evenings…..and of course there is also lots of new growth in the garden - flowers appearing and new veggies growing well although of course the weeds are giving a good show of strength too but not for too long :-)
I will have some photos of the blooms soon but first it is time for this week's sketch from The Paper Craft Crew   the Design Team have come up with a wide variety of styles to inspire you so do go and take a look if you can.

Now if you think this week's sketch bears a striking resemblance to the one two weeks ago you are not wrong :-)
So seeing as I did a female card last time…I have done a male one this week :-)

I did however to make this a standard sized card as it is much easier to post - here in Australia our Post Office charges us more for "non standard" sized cards and this card is destined for delivery to New Zealand and it still looks ok I think?

For this card the colours came from the pack of DSP - and Real Red seemed a good contrast colour to bring it all together. The other card used is some Smoky slate and then it was a case of having some fun with the wonderful Gorgeous Grunge and some sequins!! Now some would say that sequins (or bling in general) has no real place on a masculine card but I beg to differ :-) Surely as long as the "bling" looks metallic - you know, like a shiny car!! -  it's quite ok :-) So what do YOU think?

Card stock: Real Red, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Flashback
Ink: Real Red, Tuxedo Black Momento
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Just Sayin'
Access: Big Shot, Word Bubble Framelits, Itty Bitty Banner Framelits, Red and Silver sequins (Non-SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have time to check out all the great cards from the Team at The Paper Craft Crew this week and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this sketch too!

Happy stamping until next time,
