You'll Always Be My Hero JAI #468

Happy Friday folks and welcome 😊It's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week Lou has a gorgeous clean and elegant Sketch for us all to use.

Image may contain: text

You can use the sketch exactly as it is above or flip it around for whatever suits your project. Our lovely design team have all created gorgeous cards to inspire you so I hope you can pop on over and take a peek and we'd love you to join us.

I needed a male "thank you" card and looking through my stamp collection I came across the retired  Everyday Hero set and decided to give it a whirl.
First, I stamped the Wow bubble and created a mask before using Distress Inks to create a sky background.

Superman and his Wow bubble were coloured with Copics and the city sky scrapers were stamped on Smoky Slate card a couple of times and enough fussy cut to fill the space.

The Stamparatus makes putting the head and body together Super Easy πŸ˜„
And add a few metallic sequins and this Super Hero themed male card is ready for delivery!

Card Stock: Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Everyday Hero (retired)
Accessories: Metallic Sequin Assortment
Non SU: Distress Inks (TH/Ranger) Copic Markers

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment and pop on over to Just Add Ink and we'd love to see your take on this clean and elegant sketch too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan

Merry Puppies for JAI # 467

Hi everyone and welcome back :-)
It's Friday again and that means it's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink

No photo description available.

This week Kelly has given us this fabulous Inspiration Photo to kickstart our craft projects. It may be that you are inspired by individual items in the photo, or the colours or theme. Whatever pops out at you and sparks an idea, we would love to hear about and of course, see your result 😊And don't forget to pop by the Just Add Ink blog to see all the wonderful creations the team has made to inspire you too.

I knew as soon as I saw those baubles, this was going to be a puppy Christmas card....😊These images are from an oldie but a goodie MFT set called Happy Pawlidays and he (as girls wouldn't be that naughty would they?) has just pulled over the Pine branch inspired Christmas tree!!

One of the Nested Label dies forms the frame and the sentiment is created using the Layering Alphabet Dies to give the images a fresh, up to date look.

The images themselves were coloured with Copics. I have a mixture of Copics and Blends in my collection and although I'm no colouring expert, for the tree used a flicking stripe technique to give shading so it looks a little like the pine branches in the photo. It's the same stroke used for colouring hair 😊

I suspect this puppy must be a little over weight as it looks like he's caused the letters to be a bit crooked too πŸ˜€At least there's a few months yet for a diet before it needs to go in the post!!

Don't forget to pop on over to see all fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Just Add Ink team and I look forward to seeing what you love about this lovely Inspiration Photo challenge  this week.

Card stock: Whisper White (thick and standard), Real Red
Designer Series Paper: Tutti Fruiti stack (retired)
Accessories: Big Shot, Layering Alphabet Dies
Non SU: Happy Pawlidays bundle (MFT), Copic markers

Happy stamping until next time,

Thank You for Being a Friend JAI #465

Happy Friday everyone and welcome! We are mid way through Winter now and the chill is certainly palpable in the air. This week is particularly seasonal, with blizzards in the Alpine regions and even in the city we've had heavy rain and Gale force winds. But...when we see the sun they tell us it is rising earlier and setting a little later already πŸ˜‰

Image may contain: text

So it's perfect timing for this week's new Just Add Ink challenge!! Nikki has suggested that we "Just Add...the Season."  So what is the Season where you are? Winter? Summer? Or maybe you have a favourite Season that you'd like to share with us. Whichever of the four weather based Seasons you'd like to choose, we'd love to see how you make them the focal point of your project.

For my card this week, I've gone with my favourite Season - Spring!! I am not a huge bird fan but I did love the look of this pretty page from the Bird Ballad Suite. Flicking through the catalogue I was reminded of the Lots of Happy Kit and that's where the sentiment comes from. Btw, has anyone found themselves singing the song this comes from or am I showing my age? Somehow it has become stuck in my head now πŸ˜€

The Nesting dies were used to layer the sentiment. But the next size up than the white layer was quite a bit longer.

So similarly with how to shorten a rectangle die, I simply placed the top cutting plate only half way over the die so it cuts only as far as the plate After passing it through the die cutting machine, I kept the die in place and placed the white layer on top and then moved the die over to frame the white layer evenly.

Another floral spray was fussy cut to add to the label with some Basic Pearls as centres. There are some soft layers of Burlap, twine the opposite side of the DSP and some black sequin trim. Wink of Stella was applied to all the blooms and this card is ready.

Card stock: Basic Black, Pool Party, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Bird Ballad
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Lots of Happy (Kit)
Accessories: Big Shot, Nested Labels Dies, Burlap Ribbon, Black Sequin Trim, White Twine, Basic Pearls

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the fabulous inspiration our lovely team has created for you. I look forward to seeing what Season you choose for your projects too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Thinking Magnolia for JAI # 464

Hi everyone and welcome!! It's now July, so the middle month of Winter and it is quite crisp and chilly here in Oz. So at Just Add Ink we have the perfect antidote - a bright and cheerful, Spring inspired Colour Challenge suggested by Jackie!

Image may contain: text that says "Join the challenge! Just Add Ink just-add-ink.blogspot.com Granny Soft Sea Flirty Apple Foam Flamingo Green Colour Challenge #464"

This card is a bit different from my normal style. Sometimes it's good to stretch outside our comfort zone and see what happens. The Magnolia is White Embossed on water colour paper and coloured with ink pads.

Then, seemingly the easiest part, the lining up of the elegant die cuts actually almost did my head in! Yes, all of us crafters whether new or seasoned all have moments when we wonder if a card will come together. But I think we got there in the end.

Card Stock: Flirty Flaming, Soft Sea Foam, Basic Black, Whisper White
Inks: Flirty Flamingo. Granny Apple Green, Versamark
Stamps: Magnificent Magnolia
Accessories: Big Shot, Magnolia Memory Dies, White EP, Gold Twine (retired), Metallic Sequins Assortment (retired).

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the gorgeous creations the Team have made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you create with these pretty colours too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan
