JAI #480 Happy Halloween Technique

Happy Friday folks and welcome! It's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink 😊

This week's challenge was suggested by me so I really hope that you enjoy it! You can use any crafting Technique that you choose or combine more than one. Our talented and lovely design team have all fabulous cards to inspire you so I hope that you will pop on over to the blog and join us.

For my card, I combined Brusho water colouring with heat embossing on this Fancy fold Halloween card. The background is made withe Brusho crystals. I sprinkled the crystals over some water color paper and then spritzed some water. Mopped up excess water with a paper towel and repeated the process til I had the red/orange sky I was going for.

Some Gamboge and Red crystals made the job easy to do. Then just some stamping of bats...
The twine is created specially too - some black and also some white, slowly but surely twisted together to create one thread.

Then the sentiment was stamped with Versamark before heat embossed using the new Shimmer Black Embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the design team inspiration and we'd love to see you join us for the challenge!

It's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week Jackie has suggested this very peaceful Colour Combo for us all to use in our projects this week. Our design team have created a fabulous array of cards to inspire you so I hope that you can pop on over and take a peek and join us.

These colours seemed to be ideal for Christmas and so I started by creating a background. Splashing a little Distress Resist Spray onto the white card before adding some Coastal Cabana ink and Silver Wink of Stella.

Next the tree from the retired Santa's Sleigh was white embossed and the pretty Dashing Deer and Merry Dies were added. A longer Sentiment strip was created by partial die cutting a stitched rectangle and moving the die along before cutting again.

Card stock: Whisper White (thick and standard), Coastal Cabana, Pear Pizazz, Silver Glimmer
Inks: Coastal Cabana, Versamark
Stamps: Santa's Sleigh. Merry Christmas to All, Dashing Deer
Accessories: Big Shot die cutting machine, Santas Sleigh Thinlits (retired) Merry Christmas Thinlits, Detailed Deer Thinlits, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Wink of Stella, Aqua Painter

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the fabulous cards the team have made to inspire you.

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan

This week at Just Add Ink we have this lovely clean and simple sketch designed for you by Kim! You can use it as is, flip it upside down, turn it on it's side....whatever suits the project that you have in mind. Our talented design team have done all of the above flipping and turning so I hope that you can pop over to the challenge blog and we'd  love you to join us!

We have an exciting month ahead...I have 2 of my siblings coming to visit in a few weeks and then just after that we have our Graduation Day at Guide Dogs Victoria...no, Sally is not a Guide, but she was given to me as a Companion and the Companions graduate too. Sally also has just become government funded (NDIS) and she is the first ever Companion to get this so she is pretty special. 😍
We will see Sally's Puppy Raiser family there as well and so this card is for them as they did all the early work that helped make her the wonderful girl that she is. Sally was a cutie pie puppy too and early photos I've seen, she had a pink collar - which I continued without knowing. So the card had to be pink 😀

Happy Tails is the perfect set for a Labrador and so Sally is coloured using Copics and then the collar was coloured onto another stamped version and then fussy cut and added on top.  A small gold sequin is added for collar tag for the gold standard that she has achieved. 😊
The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and the fun Shimmery Black Embossing Powder added for effect.

The stitched banners here are longer than the standard sizes of the Stitched Rectangles Dies but it's easy to create the perfect size. There are two ways - find the right width you want and partially die cut the card stock, re-position the die and cut again. Or, you can use a die larger than you need to get the stitched length that you want and then use the long side of the die to cut the ends. I did a bit of both to have stitching on every layer.

Card stock: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo, Momento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Blends (Lovely Lipstick)
Stamps: Happy Tails, Thankful Thoughts
Accessories: Big Shot, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Dog Builder Punch, Shimmery Black EP, Metallic Sequins (retired)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this fun and versatile sketch!

I couldn't resist sharing a photo of the special girl who inspired this card...

Here she is as a tiny puppy at her lovely Puppy Raiser's home wearing her pretty pink collar.

Happy stamping until next time 😀
