JAI #480 Happy Halloween Technique

Happy Friday folks and welcome! It's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink 😊

This week's challenge was suggested by me so I really hope that you enjoy it! You can use any crafting Technique that you choose or combine more than one. Our talented and lovely design team have all fabulous cards to inspire you so I hope that you will pop on over to the blog and join us.

For my card, I combined Brusho water colouring with heat embossing on this Fancy fold Halloween card. The background is made withe Brusho crystals. I sprinkled the crystals over some water color paper and then spritzed some water. Mopped up excess water with a paper towel and repeated the process til I had the red/orange sky I was going for.

Some Gamboge and Red crystals made the job easy to do. Then just some stamping of bats...

The twine is created specially too - some black and also some white, slowly but surely twisted together to create one thread.

Then the sentiment was stamped with Versamark before heat embossed using the new Shimmer Black Embossing powder.

Happy New Home

Winter has definitely returned for the last weekend of the month - its pretty chilly and we've had plenty of rain but as we need the rain (apparently :-) ) and New South Wales have had floods earlier this week I can't really complain can I? Spring is just around the corner so all good!

Today's card uses the retired Holiday Home set from last year's Holiday Catalogue. I kept it for just such a use as this - to celebrate a new home :-)

(Please forgive the bad photography - a plainer background would've been better!)

This is for someone who is big fan of Clean and Simple and so I decided to keep a lot of white space and only colour one of the houses - and used the Thick Whisper White card stock instead of water colour paper as I've found it doesn't lose it's shape when wet as much as the paper seems to do and this makes it so much easier to layer :-) And as the set came with co-ordinating framelits it was super fun and easy! The trees are also stamped and cut the same way and the little pink punched heart has some of the gorgeous Silver Metallic Thread peeking out from behind it to match the Silver Glimmer paper layer.

Holiday home for the Paper Craft Crew

Good evening everyone! We have had a lovely but cool Spring day here in Melbourne! And such a busy day it has been too so am sorry this post is a little late than usual So here were are - its time for another sketch from The Paper Craft Crew so here it is :-)

Quite interesting isn't it with all those layers and shapes! The Design Team have come up with many varied themes for this sketch so I do hope you have time to check them all out.

Here is my card:

For the card base I used some Lost Lagoon and then some Pool Party and some of the beautiful All is Calm DSP for Christmas. I was hoping to keep the background rather neutral so the main panel shines :-)

And I've coloured the lovely house from the Holiday Home stamp set with Blendabilities markers and added it with dimensionals and the trees the same with a little bit of bling on top of course :-)
