Quilted Quirky Card fold for JAI #458

Hello, happy Friday to you and welcome!! It's almost half way through 2019 already yet the weather  has not felt like it. Just the last few days we've had beautiful, not a cloud in the sky warm sunny days and the garden is loving it too! We even have been able to pick our very first lemons from our young tree which is pretty special πŸ˜€

It's new challenge time over at Just Add Ink and this week we have something a little special for you too. We are coming to the pointy end of Tina's very popular letter challenges. So this week we are offering you the option to choose which letter - out of Q, X, Y or Z to use as your main focus for your projects. Our lovely design team had a lot of fun with this and almost all letters are well represented. Can you find something for X  maybe? We'd love to see your creation whichever of these letters you choose. 😊

For my card....can you guess?? I've gone with Q - for a Quilted background and a Quick and Quirky card fold. πŸ˜€Yes, I am a tad addicted lately to both this Triangle fold card base  (I was inspired by the lovely Nikki Spencer 's version) and the Magnolia bundle. Today's card is also paired with the beautiful Magnolia Lane DSP.

The flower is coloured with Blends and the leaves with Copics. You may have noticed that similarly to the last card that I made with this magnolia, that I have fussy cut the left lower leaf and tucked it in under the petals. It fits the space better and also gives a little more dimension.

The die cut birthday has a couple of layers of white underneath it to give it more strength and dimension too 😊

Card stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold Glimmer
Designer Series paper: Magnolia Lane
Inks: Versamark, Blends: Calypso Coral light, Petal Pink Combo
Stamps: Magnificent Magnolia, Well Said
Accessories: Big Shot, Magnolia Memory dies, Well Written dies, Tufted 3D EF, Wink of Stella, Gold Faceted Gems
Non SU: Copics

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see the fabulous array of cards the team has made to inspire you and I really look forward to seeing what letter you choose to kick start your creating process this week!

Happy stamping until next time,

Broadway Wish for JAI #457

Happy Friday and welcome everyone! We are now half way through May and the nights are cgetting longer and cool. All the colours of Autumn are visible in the tree leaves though and it is a truly beautiful sight as we go for our evening dog walks around the neighbourhood.

And fun this week is our new challenge at Just Add Ink! Narelle has designed this lovely clean and layered Sketch for us all to use in our projects. You can use it as is or flip it around to suit what you have in mind. Sketches are a great base for creating as the design is all done for you and you just need to choose which colours and images to use. Our design team have created a gorgeous array of cards to inspire you so I hope you can pop on over and we'd love you to join us!

For my card, I have used the current Broadway Birthday bundle and teamed it with the new Perennial Essence DSP to make a Twisted Easel card for a friend's birthday.  The papers have a real Monet feel about them and even the reverse sides (like this one) are so whimsical and beautiful.

For the sketch strip layers, I have used a combination of card stock, ribbon and sequin trim and this is how the card appears from the envelope. Always good to have a fancy fold card that fits a regular envelope 😊The gold confetti diamonds are cut using the co -ordination dies and the sequins are the Metallics Assortment on the retirement list so if you're like me, and use these a lot you'd best stock up whilst you can.

Card stock: Blackberry Bliss, Berry Bliss,  Powder Pink, Daffodil Delight, Vellum, Silver Glimmer, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper: Perennial Essence
Inks: Versamark, Blackberry Bliss
Stamps: Broadway Birthday
Accessories: Big Shot, Broadway Lights Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Silver Sequin Trim, Metallic Sequins (retiring)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the fabulous inspiration from the design team and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this fun and clean sketch too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Kelly's Stamping Friends Birthday Blog Hop 2019

Hello and welcome to a special Blog Hop to celebrate the lovely Kelly Kent's birthday!! I've been blessed to know Kelly for a few years now thanks to us being Just Add Ink teamies. She is a very talented crafter and also so very generous with her time and energy for all and so I jumped at the opportunity to honour her on her birthday.πŸ˜€

You may have just arrived here from Siobhan Fitzsimmins and her gorgeous projects. And you can also start the Hop here by clicking on the Next button at the bottom of this post. I'm sure you will enjoy your trip around  blog land celebrating Kelly and Birthdays with us. We hope you will be inspired and you may even get a few sneak peeks of new products coming in the new Annual Catalogue. 😊

For my card, I do have a couple of sneak peeks for you and have created a Triangle Fold card. I was inspired to try this fun fold by a recent card from another of my lovely JAI team mates,  Nikki Spencer. The flower used here is of course the aptly named Magnificent Magnolia and as I have loved the trees and flowers in the neighbourhood for years, it is sure to get a good work out here πŸ˜€

The petals are coloured using Blends and Wink of Stella and the leaves using Copics. You may have noticed that the bottom left leaf is fussy cut and slipped underneath. It helps it fit the space better - and also my need for balance, Lol! The banners are adhered to the top of the front panel and I think for future versions they would sit better if adhered to the back of the panel.

The gorgeous DSP is also new, from the Perennial Essence Suite. It his stunning in real life and has a definite Monet feel about it. I adore the mix of deep purples and blues with the lighter pinks / yellows and couldn't wait to pair it with this bloom for a slightly different look.

This card is now on it's way to Kelly, the birthday girl of course and I hope you too enjoy heading off next to see Richelle Fletcher and her awesome projects! You can see a full list of the Blop Hop participants below. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the Hop. 😊

Wedding Cake for JAI# 456

Happy Friday folks and welcome back! It's a chilly, grey old day here in Melbourne. Perfect thought for anyone needing an excuse to stay inside and get creative. 😊

It's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink and this fabulous white and pretty Inspiration Photo was suggested by Nikki for us to use in our projects this week. Perfect for Weddings or whatever white or floral project you have to do. The design team have all created such amazing cards to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and take a peek and we'd love you to join us.

So I was inspired by the round shape of the flowers and the gold and white colour palette. I actually had in mind a huge layered wedding cake with this image at the top. But I couldn't quite find circles big enough...so I went with smaller ones lol. In the end there is quite a few stamps and dies used here which kinda shows how many different versions of this card I tried! Mostly, it's about creating an idea I have in mind but sometimes the process itself is what produces the card even after all these years.

White on white seems to be a current design trend and I decided to add the gold from the Photo flower centres and layers of texture to complete this wedding card.

Card stock: Whisper White (thick and standard), Gold Foil and Glimmer
Ink: Versamark
Stamps: Piece of Cake, Painted Glass
Accessories: Big Shot, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Stitched shapes and Layering Circles Framelits,  Well Written Framelits, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Gold EP,  Tufted EF, White Organza Ribbon, Gold Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the gorgeous inspiration from the team and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this pretty Photo Inspiration pic too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Flourish Sympathy for JAI #455

Happy Friday everyone and welcome back again! The month of May has arrived and that means sneaks peeks of new products!!  The Pre-order has begun for SU! Demos and its always an exciting time to see new catalogue items come to life with ink and paper for the first time!!

Image may contain: text

It's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week Kim has suggested we Just Add Sympathy to our projects. It's one of those card themes that is often hard to make and needed more often than we would like to think about. So this is an opportunity to be inspired to make a card so you have one on hand for when it's needed and our design team have created a beautiful array for you.

For my card, no sorry, no sneak peeks yet but am sure it won't be long... So I turned to the carrying over Flourishing Phrases stamp set and decided to try something a bit different.  I embossed the floral image in white onto Basic Black card stock and then coloured over it with Water colour pencils. Next, I used an Aqua Painter to gently blend the colour and then went over it again with the Pencil which brought out the colour more.

In the photo above you can see the texture that the heated white embossing powder adds underneath the pencil colour. A second version is fussy cut for layering and the green leaves are from the matching dies.

Card stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Garden Green
Inks: Versamark, Water color pencils (Melon Mambo)
Stamps: Flourishing Phrases
Accessories: Big Shot, Stitched Shapes Framelits,Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Flourish Thinlits, White Embossing Paste, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see what the design team have made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you will create for this sadly often needed theme challenge.

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan
