Just Add a Sketch

The weather this week has been lovely and mild for the end of Autumn - plenty of cool nights and some beautiful sunny days that have made the chilly mornings worth it.

And at Just Add Ink we have a new challenge for you! The lovely Kim has suggested a fabulous sketch for you to work with this week. It is very clean and open to interpretation and I hope you have a moment to pop on over and see the wonderful creations the Team have made to inspire you.

Here is the sketch:

And here is what I made with it:

I started with the fabulous greeting from #Hello and after adding to the black circle it reminded me somewhat of a record and it's label - so I decided to go a little more Retro and added the silver details. And there also is a new colour here to introduce - the fun Watermelon Wonder which is one of the new In Colours coming in the Catalogue that starts next week - not long to wait now :-)

Card stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Silver Foil
Inks: Watermelon Wonder, Momento Tuxedo black
Stamps: #Hello
Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Framleits. Large Polka Dots EF,  Hexagon Punch, Silver Ribbon,  Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to pop over to Just Add Ink and see all the wonderful creations the Team have made to inspire you this week. And I look forward to seeing what you will create with this Challenge too!

Happy stamping until next time,

So the first of April is almost over and so far there have been no signs of any fool jokes - in fact the day has gone pretty well :-) It started out cool and crisp again and got quite warm - around 30 degrees was forecast so that's been lovely!

Just Add A Sketch

Welcome to the last Friday in Summer - already!! It seems as though it hasn't been as hot a Summer as usual so maybe that's why it seems to have gone so quickly? Can hardly believe that the evenings are indeed getting a little shorter even though we still have Daylight Savings time for another month.

And this week at Just Add Ink  we have a great sketch for you by Kim. The Team have come up with some fabulous ideas to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment and pop over and take a look.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

The big and bold "@" teamed with the Back To Black DSP make for a card that hopefully will appeal to a Teen male  - that was the look I was going for anyway :-) A few splashes of silver Grunge and sequins and the card is done. The angled piece did take a bit of measuring but is well worth the effort as the sharp angles work so well with the circles.

Card stock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Back to Black
Inks: Real Red, Silver Encore
Stamps: # Hello, Gorgeous Grunge
Accessories: Big Shot, Circle and Starburst Framelits, Frosted Sequins

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to pop over to Just Add Ink and see the fabulous ideas the Team have created to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you will make with this fun sketch too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Happy New Year's Eve!

Today in Melbourne has been a beautiful warm but not too hot day - perfect really for the end of the year! The day started with some early morning baking - ok after a quick trip to the supermarket when we realised we were out of brown sugar!! And then we had a lovely morning tea/ lunch with some good friends while our dogs enjoyed a social time as well. Dear Sally is still not allowed to play with her best friend Monty as she is still recovering from surgery a month ago to remove a tumour from a leg but she is otherwise well and happy and she spent the morning teasing him and tempting him to start some vigorous play as I think she knows it's not on and brings them both immediate attention from respective "parents"…just like human kids :-) And as is was also Monty's teenage "brother's"  birthday today it was the perfect inspiration behind this week's card for The Paper Craft Crew :-)

A great sketch this week especially for a teenager! The Team have created some great and varied cards for the sketch so I hope you have a moment to check them out. Here is the sketch:

And here is the Teen boy card :-)

Ok so the flower probably isn't so appropriate here but it IS red :-)

But I am pleased to say the Birthday boy did like his card and was quite keen to see how it all was put together too - an engineer at heart possibly :-)

Card stock: Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Gold Foil
Inks: Real Red, Encore Gold, Momento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Stamps: Really Good Greetings, Amazing Birthday, # Hello, Gorgeous Grunge
Accessories: Big Shot, on Film Framelits, Square Framelits, White EP, 11/4 Circle Punch,

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to check out all the great cards this week by the Team at The Paper Craft Crew. And I wish you all a wonderful start to the New Year and may 2015 be a special year for you and all your families!

# Male Birthday for 200th Post

Today has been a rather strange Sunday - there is still a Tiger Snake loose in the back yard somewhere and so the day has been spent inside ( for obvious reasons!) and have also had an eye out to see if the snake can be seen - the idea is to then call the Catcher as he came yesterday without success. And I hope he catches it shortly as I really am quite frightened of snakes! So while I've been waiting… I decided to play along with the great sketch this week at Just Add Ink. And here it is:

Indeed the design is perfect for Christmas…but I need a card for an Uncle with Tech savvy (teenage) daughters having a birthday……so here is my card:

So I've used the #Hello stamp set and the the fabulously big @ - stamped in Night of Navy and cut out with the circle framelits and layered with some dimensionals onto a Silver Foil Sunburst. A little simple for the sketch I think but hopefully it will be ok.
The greeting is stamped and then cut using the Itty Bitty Banners Framelits and then one end is hidden behind the starburst.  I  cut some DSP into the arrow shape and embossed a Silver Foil banner using the Star framelits. I hope my Uncle likes his card :-)

Card stock: Night of Navy. Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Designer Series Paper: Flashback
Ink: Night of Navy
Stamps: # Hello
Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Framelits, Starburst Framelits, Arrow EF, Itty Bitty Banner Framelits, Basic Rhinestones. Night of Navy Blendabilitiies,

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you can take a peek at al the great inspiration at Just Add Ink this week and maybe you might be the next to enter the Challenge!

Happy stamping until next time,

# Socially @

Good evening and what a lovely day it has been here in Melbourne! This morning started with grey skies as Sally and I went for a walk in the Park - she is doing so well these days and we managed our usual 11/2 laps of the Park ( 2 football fields make up one lap ). Before her surgery we were down to only half a lap so it is so encouraging to see her doing so much better and enjoying life again!  And then this afternoon the sun came out and we had a warm 24 degrees (Celsisu) which was perfect timing as I had a friend come over to help with the annual steam clean of the carpets….so always good to have warm weather for drying :-)

And of course, being Wednesday, it is time for a new sketch from The Paper Craft Crew :-) I do hope you have time to check out all the great creations by the Design Team this week.

This was one of those sketches that I knew exactly what I wanted to make as soon as I saw it :-)
I hope you like it!

Yes, indeed - time to get with @ for all of the socially connected….and no, sorry, I haven't quite found the need for Twitter yet - of Face Book for that matter but doesn't the @ in this stamp look so intriguing?! One day, I may well learn the in's and out's of Tweeting, but in the meantime there will always be stamping LOL :-)

Card stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold Foil Specialty
Inks: Versamark, Momento Tuxedo Black, Encore Gold
Stamps: #Hello, Dictionary, Gorgeous Grunge
Accessories: Big Shot, On Film Framelits, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Circle Framelits, 13/8" Circle Punch, Gold EP, Heat tool,  Gold Sequin Trim

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have time to check out all the great cards the Design Team have made to inspire you at The Paper Craft Crew and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this sketch too!

Happy stamping unit next time,'
