Just Add Ink #529 Colourful Sympathy

Happy Friday everyone and welcome! Victoria has enjoyed it's first few days free of a 16 week Lockdown and it felt amazing to see shopping centres open and be able to sit down and enjoy a coffee for the first time since March! Lets hope it's onwards and upwards from here on.

This week at Just Add Ink we have a stunning Colour Challenge for you from the lovely Kelly! These gorgeous colours would suit any feminine type card from Christmas to Birthday and all in between. The design team have again created a lovely array to inspire you so I hope you can pop over and see and we'd love you to join us!

I sadly needed a Sympathy card this week for a friend but found these colours still worked well for this theme. The Magnolia image is embossed on Water color paper with Silver and then coloured with ink pads and the sentiment is a mix of White embossing and silver foil.

I had a new order of water color paper arrive and really enjoyed getting back to my favourite medium again. The image is die cut once dry and layered over another piece of watercolor paper - this time with the rough side upwards.

Card stock: Misty Moonlight, Water colour paper, Silver Foil, Whisper White
Inks: Misty Moonlight, Majenta Madness, Versamark
Stamps: Good Morning Magnolia, Well Said
Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Magnolia Memory Dies, Well Written Dies, Silver EP, White EP, Basic Rhinestones, Aqua Painter

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and I look forward to seeing what you create with this gorgeous colour combo.

Til next time,
Jan

Just Add Ink #528 Happy Choose Two

Happy Friday and welcome back! It's almost the last week of October and we are also almost half way through Spring. Yesterday was my turn for an Iso birthday and whilst it was quite different to normal it still was lovely in many ways and I was very spoilt.  And it was wonderful to be able to travel outside our 5km home radius this week for the first time in 3 months too!!

It's now time for a new challenge week at Just Add Ink and this fun Choose Two - of Sequins, Ribbon or Metallic Foil - was suggested by me so I really hope that you enjoy it.  Our design team have all created a beautiful array of cards to inspire you as always and we'd love you to join us.

I chose Sequins and Metallic Foil for my two challenge items and used these to create a clean Guy card. The background under the happy is created by blending inks onto card stock and then flicking some White craft ink over the colours to create some little splatters.

The Happy die cut the obvious Happy. And the top and bottom pieces were then embossed with the 3D Pinewood Planks to add a little definition. The balloons were die cut from another piece of blended card stock and then covered with Wink of Stella - which gave the inks more of a painted look.

The "birthday" is from the wonderful Well Written dies and is layered over the top of 3 white versions and of course a sprinkling of silver sequins to finish.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the inspiration from the team and I look forward to seeing what you will choose to use on your projects this week.

Til next time,

Just Add Ink #527 Birthday with Pets

Welcome back! It's another Friday in lockdown here in Victoria and we are all hopeful for some changes to be announced this coming Sunday. The colours of Spring are in full swing and it has been lovely to be able to enjoy some sunshine this week.

It's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week we have this fun and detailed Sketch from Kim. You can use the sketch as is or flip it around as some of the design team have. I hope you can pop over to JAI and see all the projects the team have created to inspire you and we'd love you to join us.

I didn't have ovals big enough in my stash to use for this sketch so I swapped the shape for a circle. I also flipped the sketch upside down.
Unfortunately, this didn't turn out quite like I hoped. But I did want a Yorkie inside the circle (he is cut from DSP) and a Sally - like image on the outside watching on as if from afar.

The black dog from Pampered Pets is coloured with Copics as are the butterflies, bowl and kibble and all fussy cut. The inside scene was blended using Distress Inks.

This is of course for someone who will know it's for her as soon as she sees it...but I don't think she visits here very often so fingers crossed it will be a surprise!!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you will pop over to Just Add Ink and see all the rest of the design team projects and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this fun sketch this week.

Til next time,
Jan

Just Add Ink #525 Sunflower Thank You

Hello and happy Friday everyone!! The year is passing quickly and with October we are now in the middle of Spring - or Autumn / Fall  for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere. That means lots of new colours in flowers and leaves and mild to warm but not too hot temperatures - my favourite time of year!

Once again it's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week Chantell has asked us all to add a Thank You to our projects. Thanking the people that mean so much to us - especially during these times when it may not be so easy to meet them in person  - is a wonderful activity to be able to do and helps keep us all together whatever the circumstances. Our lovely team have created so many different colour themes and styles of thank you so I hope that you will be inspired to join us!

For my card this week, I chose to water colour a Sunflower and then added texture to the background using some white on white die cuts. This is similar but different to a couple of cards I posted previously here.
The sunflower and leaves are embossed using the retired Black Shimmery EP and then water coloured with inks and a Water Painter. The background is created using some of the co-ordinated dies for a white - on - white look. I love how this adds texture in a clean way.

Ink colours used include Daffodil Delight, Bumble Bee, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red. You can see some of the shimmer from the embossing powder in the photo above too.

Card stock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: Painted Poppies
Inks: Versamark, Daffodil Delight, Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Mossy Meadow
Stamps: Celebrate Sunflowers
Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Sunflowers Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, White EP, Shimmery Black EP, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can pop on over to Just Add Ink and be inspired to join us. I look forward to see what you will create to say thank you this week.
