Bike Ride for JAI #415
Hello there and welcome! It's been a cold and foggy old week here in Melbourne and we are hoping for a little sunshine in the days to come. It's certainly made the dog walks and training interesting :-)
This week at Just Add Ink we have this gorgeous Inspiration Photo suggested by Rachael to get your crafting juices flowing. As always our lovely design team have created amazing projects to inspire you so I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over and maybe join us.
For my card, I went rather literal, recreating the pink bicycle and the white brick background. For the base layer, I first water coloured using Smoky Slate ink with an Aqua Painter and then added some Shimmery Embossing Paste via a stencil.
The square panel also has a water colour background for the little pink bike with it's basket full of flowers. Of course, I couldn't help but add a little puppy to say hello to it's friend :-)
Card stock: Berry Burst, Whisper White, Basic Black
Inks: Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue, Momento Tuxedo Black, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Versamark, Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green
Stamps: Bike Ride, Oh So Eclectic
Accessories: Big Shot, Build a Bike Framelits, Shimmery White Embossing Paste, White EP, HappyPatterns Stencils, Metallic Sequin Assortment
Non SU: Stitched Square Framelits (SSS)
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the team and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this fun Photo Inspiration too!

Pretty Packaging for JAI #414
Happy Friday everyone and welcome! With yesterday being the Shortest Day of the year here in the Southern Hemisphere, we can finally look forward to the days getting longer again and the taste of Spring! It also will make taking photos of projects a bit easier in the days ahead too :-)
This week at Just Add Ink, the lovely Nikki has suggested that we Just add a Window or Frame - or both if you would like. The choice is yours :-) Our lovely design team had a lot of fun with this and have created some really fabulous projects to inspire you so I hope you can take a pop on over to take a peek and hopefully join us.
There is some black and white striped ribbon to act as a belly band and some similar DSP from the now retired Tutti Fruitt stack acts as a base inside the frame. Black and white, pink and greens - all work so well together even if I do say so myself :-)
The flower background is stamped off once to help the outline to shine and the sequins made their way to outside the frame as well as inside.
Card stock: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
DSP: Tutti Fruiti Stack (Retired)
Inks: Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green
Accessories: Big Shot, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Black and White Ribbon, Metallic Sequins, Gold Faceted jewels
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the inspiration the design team have created for you and I look forward to seeing what you will create for this fun challenge too.
Happy stamping until next time,
Jan

Layered Alphabet for JAI #413
Happy Friday everyone and welcome! It's been a busy week as have given my craft room a bit of a make over but am still finishing off a few decorating details so I hope to have the odd photo for you by next week:-)
In the meantime, we have a fabulous and versatile Colour Challenge at Just Add Ink this week for you suggested by Di. As always, our lovely and talented design team have created awesome cards to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and take a look and join us.
I used the colours this week to create a card for a favourite Nephew's birthday. He got an electric guitar recently so the guitar from Epic Celebrations was a given :-) Here it's embossed in silver onto black card stock.
The letters and angled design is all thanks to the new Layered Alphabet Bundle. Starting with cutting the appropriate letters from card stock, they were then stamped using Playful Backgrounds and then the letters were stamped with Versamark and embossed in white.
I started the die cut letters with the "r" and left plenty of room on the left side that was later trimmed down. To work out how much space each letter needed, I laid the cut letter over the next piece of card and continued this process with each letter.
Inks: Versamark, Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green
Stamps: Layered Alphabet, Epic Celebrations (Saleabration), Playful Backgrounds
Accessories: Big Shot, White and Silver Embossing Powder, Metallic Sequins Assortment
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the fabulous inspiration from our lovely design team and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this fun colour combo too!
Happy stamping until next time,
Jan

Magical Birthday for JAI #412
Yes, it's another happy Friday in paradise....so welcome :-) Of course, if it is Summer in your part of the world then it may well seem perfect - here it's Winter and with a couple of weeks til the Shortest Day so I'm allowing myself to dream LOL
It's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week Lou has suggested a fun and fabulous one for us all - to Just Choose Two of Spots, Splatters or Speckles. There are so many ways that you can go with this and our lovely design team have led the way again in creating gorgeous projects to inspire you. So I hope you can take a moment and pop on over and hopefully join us too!
My card uses last week's sketch but it fits the "splatters and speckles" theme too. To create the background, I started with water color paper and Distress Resist Spray - simply unscrewing the whole nozzle and flicking the spray onto the card created the splatters and speckles. Then it was a case of slowly but surely adding colour and more Resist Spray with each colour layer. The spray dries clear and is shiny and textural and traps whatever colour is underneath it. Be that white, yellow or pink!
The magical little unicorn has it's mane and tail coloured using Water Color Pencils and her body is covered in Wink of Stella just to make sure she sparkles. It is sad that both the stamp set and the Number of Years stamps and dies are all now retired. Unicorns are so "in" at the moment and this card is for a niece who is having a unicorn themed birthday party so it is one set I will hold onto.
Card stock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Sparkle Glimmer, Vellum
Inks: Black Stazon, Watercolor Pencils
Stamps: Magical Day
Accessories: Big Shot, Magical Mates Framelits, Large Number Framelits, Stitched Shape Framelits, Metallic Sequin Assortment.
Non SU: Watercolor Card stock (Tim Holtz/Ranger), Distress Resist Spray (TH), Distress Inks: Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink to see all the fabulous inspiration and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this fun choice too.
Happy stamping until next time,

Painted Petals for JAI #411
Happy Friday and welcome to Winter down under or a very happy start to Summer to you if you are popping in from the Northern Hemisphere. Here in Melbourne, it has been a chilly, windy and a little damp start to Winter. We are really glad our gas central heating is back in action having gone on the blink for the last few weeks. Winter...shorter, cooler and flu and cold ridden days...yes, bring on Spring please :-)
But there are happy things happening this week too - a new Catalogue is open for orders from Stampin Up and at Just Add Ink this week we have a new sketch for you - the first ever from me (with the help of the lovely Narelle to bring it to life). The design team have created a wonderful array of cards to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and take a peek and join us :-)
Maybe you can see that better in this photo.
The frame and sweet roses are from the new Painted Glass Bundle, now available to order and the hugs is from the now retired Lovely Words Thinlits which I'll be keeping along with the Pink Pirouette card stock that goes so well with Melon Mambo :-)
Card stock: Whisper White (thick and standard), Pink Pirouette, Sparkle Glimmer, Gold Foil
Inks: Melon Mambo, Garden Green, Black Stazon
Stamps: Petal Palatte, Painted Glass
Accessories: Big Shot, Stained Glass Thinlits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Metallic Sequins, Aqua Painter
Non SU: Distress Watercolor Card stock (TH/ Ranger)
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the fabulous inspiration our lovely design team have created for you and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this clean and versatile sketch too.
