Floral Lipstick Birthday for JAI #445

It's been another week of mild temperatures here in Victoria but with floods, bushfires and cyclones effecting other states we are the lucky ones. We popped out to the beach last weekend before the cloud arrived for some puppy playtime and splashes. In all honesty the humans enjoy the sand and water just as much but it seems to sounds better if we say we do it for the pups don't you think 😁

As it's Friday, it's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink and Rochelle has a fun technique for us all to use this week. She wants us to add Embossing to our projects - so that could be dry, heat, paste - whatever sort of embossing you'd like to add we'd love to see it! Our lovely design team have created a fabulous variety of cards to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and we'd love to have you join us.

I needed another female birthday card and the new Wonderful Romance stamp just arrived and was beckoning me....after colouring the image with Blends, I was looking for a colour to make the image pop a little. Enter Lovely Lipstick which I'm now calling Popping Pink πŸ˜€as that is what it seems to do. For the Embossing elements I've used Dry Embossing for the background and the "Birthday" is Heat Embossed

There is some Wink of Stella applied to all the flowers and I fussy cut another to add on it's own along with the ribbon and a sprinkling of sequins.

Card stock: Lovely Lipstick, Basic Black, Gold Foil, Whisper White
Inks: Versamark, Momento Tuxedo Black, Blends - Lovely Lipstick, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive)
Stamps: Wonderful Romance, Well Said
Accessories: Big Shot, Lace Dynamic EF, Well Written, framelits, Wonderful Florals framelits, Whisper White Flax Ribbon, Metallic Sequins Assortment, White EP, Gold Sequin Trim

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the inspiration from the design team and I look forward to seeing what type of Embossing you choose to add to your projects this week.

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan

Vibrant Birthday for JAI #444

Happy Friday everyone and welcome! It has been a lovely week here in Melbourne - sunny days but not hot - we even have snow on nearby mountains! It seems a bit surreal just a week or so after 45 degree days but it sure does make getting out and about and sleeping so much easier so no complaints in our household 😊

It's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week Nikki has suggested a fun Colour challenge with a twist for us. Yes, YOU get to choose the third colour to add to Poppy Parade and Powder Pink!! The design team had a ball with this one and created a fabulous variety of cards with lots of different colour choices so we hope that you do too.

For my third colour, I chose Navy (Not Quite Navy to be exact) as I had these lovely vases from Vibrant Vases in mind for a first inking. I also needed a card for my fabulous SIL who just happens to be an excellent photographer and painter in her spare time so that is where the idea for the frame came from and the rest just sort of happened as it often does.

So as not to add another colour apart from the basics and metallics, the leaves are gold - and sparkly as I used a gold Wink of Stella pen πŸ˜€ The flowers are coloured with ink pads and a Blender Pen which is not a method I'm practiced at so it's good to do. This new ribbon is a white version of the Burlap and I suspect it will get a lot of use as it can be coloured.

Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, Whisper White (thick and standard), Poppy Parade, Gold Foil
Inks: Poppy Parade, Powder Pink, Versamark, Not Quite Navy
Stamps: Vibrant Vases, Well Said
Accessories: Big Shot, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Well Written Framelits, Lace Dynamic Textures EF, Vases builder punch, White EP, Blender Pens, White EP, Metallic Sequins Assortment

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see what colours the rest of the design team chose and I look forward to seeing your projects this week too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Fancy Fold lattice for JAI #443

Happy Friday everyone and welcome back 😊We've had another hot week here in Melbourne - 41 degrees around here early on in the week and some hot nights too. So it's been a case of go out early and then stay inside keeping an eye on the aircon for the rest of the day. We did manage to get to the beach at the weekend though and that was fun and helped keep everyone cool πŸ˜€

And it's time for our new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week's theme to Choose Two of the three given options was chosen by me so I hope you enjoy it! You can pick two out of Embossing Paste, Colouring or Sequins to use in your projects and the design team have come up with a fabulous and varied array to inspire you so I hope you can pop on over and take a peek and hopefully join us!

I actually struggled to come up with a starting idea this week until a friend requested a card for a milestone birthday. I chose Colouring and Sequins for my elements and it seemed the perfect time to make a Fancy Fold card.

Having seen a number of these Double Easel cards recently on Pinterest I decided to give one a try. I was especially inspired by Patty Bennet, Shauna Mikuliak and my lovely JAI Teamie, Di Barnes. Instead of reading instructions tho I just put two black card bases together instead of cutting the front card smaller but it still seems to work ok.πŸ˜€

The main image is the Lovely Lattice stamp set which is one of the free stamps available to earn during Saleabration. It's Coloured using a mixture of Blends and Copics before being fussy cut and then there's a sprinkling of Sequins.

The happy birthday sentiment is from the new Well Said bundle and it's cut from White card stock and coloured with blends and also covered generously with Fine Tip Glue which gives a lovely shine.

Card stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper: Botanical Butterfly (SAB)
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Cherry Cobbler Stampin Blends
Stamps: Lovely Lattice (SAB)
Accessories: Big Shot, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Large Numbers Framelits (retired), Celebrate You Thinlits, Well Written Framelits, Metallic Sequin Assortment, Fine Tip Glue Pen
Non SU: Copic Markers

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over Just Add Ink and see all the lovely inspiration from the design team and I look forward to seeing what you create for this fun challenge too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Colourful Piece of Cake for JAI #442

Hi there and welcome back this happy Friday! The kids are back at school this week - I had almost forgotten how the school bells across the road sounded after six weeks πŸ˜€It also means the shopping centres are so much calmer places to take a young Assistance Dog. Is it just me or are all the mums, dads and grandmums (and shop assistants lol) also breathing a sigh of relief 😊

Friday also means that it is time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week we have a really fun Sketch designed for us by Kim. Our talented design team have again created amazing cards to inspire you so I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over and see and we'd love you to join us!

For my card I broke open the Piece of Cake bundle to use the cute images and fun sentiments and went for a CAS (Clean and Simple) take on the sketch. The cake image is stamped and then coloured with pencils before being added to the white circle and the same images are stamped in Momento ink onto DSP. There is some added bling - love the Lovely Lipstick Foil behind the black sentiment pieces - that's my favourite SAB product by far πŸ˜€

And some vellum over the Lipstick scallop so it's not too matchy - matchy.

Card stock: Whisper White (thick), Lovely Lipstick, Basic Black, Vellum, Silver Foil, Lovely Lipstick Foil (SAB)
Designer Series Paper: How Sweet It Is
Stamps: Piece of Cake
Inks: Lovely Lipstick, Daffodil Delight, Versamark, Momento Tuxedo Black, Watercolor Pencils.
Accessories: Big Shot, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Circle Framelits, Cake Builder Punch, White EP, Daffodil Delight Organdy Ribbon (SAB), Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can pop on over to Just Add Ink and be inspired to join us!

Happy stamping until next time,
