Just Add Ink #524 Colourful Christmas

Happy Friday everyone and welcome! We are almost a third of the way through Spring and the blossoms and colours are beautiful when we are out walking. Lots of inspiration from nature around.

It's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week we have a gorgeous and versatile colour combo from Jo. Our design team have made a wonderful array of cards to inspire you so I hope that you can pop on over to take a peek and we'd love you to join us!

I used the colours to make two versions of a Clean and Simple Christmas card.
The lovely Peace & Joy bundle just arrived in my craft space and that helped my decision on what theme to use with these pretty colours. They are not a combo I have used before but now that I have tried them I will use them again as they are so pretty together!

I started by tracing inside a circle die to give a circle base to follow and then used the Pine stamp, 2nd generation to create the base layer of the wreath. Further branches and holly berries were fussy cut and added for dimension.
The top layer of Peace is Copper Foil layered over Merry Merlot and a shadow of Rococo Rose. A few scattered sequins and this version is complete.

Version Two has just a little more stamping....and I'm not sure which one I prefer. You can see the Copper Peace a little better in it though. Which one do you like better?

Card stock: Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose, Copper Foil, Whisper White
Inks: Mint Macaron, Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you can pop on over to Just Add Ink and join us and I look forward to seeing what you will create with these pretty colours this week.

Til next time,

Just Add Ink #522 Bloom and Grow Sketch.

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying the change of Season whichever that is for you. Here in Melbourne it is now Spring. The sun is really starting to shine with some warmth which makes our long weeks of lockdown a bit easier to bear when we can get out and walk and enjoy the lovely sunshine!

It's time for a new challenge week at Just Add Ink.  Patrice has designed this fun and cute Sketch for us all to use in our projects. You can use the sketch as it appears or flip it around to suit your project. Our design team have all created a variety of different styles and themes to inspire you and we'd love you to join us!

For my card I decided to use an image from the Bloom and And Grow set and die cut it to fill the three panels. I coloured the floral spray three times to fit the square dies and in doing so managed to lengthen the image too.

The Blooms are coloured with Blends and then they are popped up on to a piece of Just Jade Ribbon and topped with a single Flower sequin. 😊

I decided to lay my sentiment strip towards the bottom of and under the squares but generally within the sketch. Under the gold coloured Birthday are several Coral layers rather than white this time to add a little unexpected colour on close up viewing.

Card Stock: Pretty Peacock, Whisper White (thick and standard), Calypso Coral, Gold Foil
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Versamark. Blends: Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Bloom And Grow, Well Said
Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Subtles EF, Stitched Shapes Dies, Well Worded Dies,Poppy Moments Sequins, Just Jade ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take a moment to pop over to Just Add Ink and I look forward to seeing what you will be inspired to create with this fun sketch too.

Til next time,

Just Add Ink #521 Inspiration Birthday

Happy Friday everyone and welcome back again! It's the first week of Spring and the signs are plenty - the sun is up earlier in the morning, it's getting lovely and warm on our daily walks and the trees are all in beautiful blossom here in Melbourne.

It's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week Rachael has suggested this gorgeous Inspiration Photo for us all to use. With the soft florals and greenery and touches of copper there is much to love and you can take as little or as much as you like to create your project. The design team has as always created a diverse array of projects and we'd love you to join us.

I loved the look of that single white floaty bloom surrounded by the greenery and copper details. So I started with vellum and die cut the bloom and used Blends to add a little colour to the back of the petals.
Then there was layering of the leaves and copper elements but paired back to keep it clean.

To be able to pop the greenery under the vellum petals without being seen, a layer of white card was added underneath the vellum. There is also a small shadow coloured around the flower too. You could easily change the sentiment here to fit many occasions - Christmas or even Sympathy but as it's Spring, I decided to go with Birthday.

Card stock: Pretty Peacock, Whisper White, Vellum, Garden Green, Coastal Cabana, Copper Foil
Designer Series Paper: Retired Xmas copper foil Specialty
Inks: Versamark, Blends: Calypso Coral L, Petal Pink Combo
Stamps: Painted Poppies, Peaceful Moments
Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Poppies Stitched Rectangles, Sunflower Dies, Gold Faceted Gems

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can pop over to Just Add Ink and I look forward to seeing what you will create inspired by this beautiful photo this week.
