Razzleberry Sympathy for The Paper Craft Crew

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday - whilst the sun has been hiding behind the clouds the last week the heat is set to return tomorrow and by the weekend it will be 37 degrees or so again. I haven't minded the cooler weather to be honest but the veggie garden and tomatoes will enjoy the sun for sure! The veggie garden has had its most productive summer yet and we have been so blessed with fruit and veg that we have been able to give a lot away too which has been just fabulous to be able to do. I'm new to gardening and loving seeing what veggies I can get to grow in our limited but sun filled space.

Maybe that has something to do with the floral theme I went with for this week's sketch from The Paper Craft Crew :-) We have a great sketch for you this week and the Team have been busy making some wonderful cards to inspire so I hope you can take a moment to pop by and see them all.
So here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it:

So yes, a few variations: I have turned the sketch on its's side and decided to make a rectangular card so it fits into a standard envelope.
This card is also for a good friend and so the theme was really chosen for me. Sympathy - and the Bloom With Hope stamp set seemed the obvious choice. As did making a tag which could double as a bookmark for the centre panel …

Card stock: Garden Green, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:Painted Blooms
Inks: Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities Markers, Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate, Versamark
Stamps: Bloom With Hope, Papillon Potpourri, Butterfly Basics
Accessories: Big Shot, Stripes EF, Hexagon Punch, Angled Tag Topper Punch, Gumball Green Ribbon (retired), Banner Punch

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop by The Paper Craft Crew and see the wonderful inspiration the Team has for you and I look forward to see what you will create with this sketch :-)

Happy stamping until next time,

Hello Bloom

Welcome everyone to Winter in Melbourne :-) Actually today is a balmy 20 degrees! I don't quite know what happened to Winter - perhaps it has decided its time to move on? There will be no complaints from me if that is the case :-) Bring on Spring any day!!
And its also time for another sketch from The Paper Craft Crew. If it seems a long time between posts - you are right! An extra week was allowed for with the Convention in the US during the first week so I hope this finds you itching to go :-)

So without any further delay, here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

And no, its not a square card - I wanted to use a standard envelope and so it was a good opportunity to see how well this sketch would suit a standard card size. So what do you think? I think it works well :-)

For the colours inspiration I used this pretty page from the Moonlight DSP stack - perfectly sized for cards too :-) The card base is Pool Party and I coloured the flower from the Hostess Bloom With Hope with the Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and the Daffodil Delight ones for the butterfly. These pens are so fun to use and I found if you follow the Artist's lines on the stamped image it is quite quick and easy too - not that I am a colouring expert by any means, having only started colouring in the last few weeks!! - So what  I mean is, if I can make this look ok, anyone can :-)

Card stock:Pool Party, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Moonlight DSP Stack
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight Blendabilitiies Markers
Stamps: Bloom with Hope (Hostess), Papillon Potpourri, Four You
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Framelits, 7/8" Scallop Punch (under butterfly), Banner Punch, Dimensionals, Blue Sequins (Non SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have time to check out all the great cards from our Design Team this week at The Paper Craft Crew this week and I look forward to seeing what you create with this sketch too!

Happy stamping until next time,

100th Sketch for The Paper Craft Crew

Welcome to a mild Winter's Wednesday in Melbourne :-) So nice to see the sun shine after all the recent rain!
And it's a special week at the Paper Craft Crew with the 100th Sketch Challenge! I hope you can go and check out all the lovely cards by the Design Team and also check out the Blog Candy being offered too :-)

So here is sketch 100 :

And here is my card - to celebrate the life of a special family member who loved the colour pink and butterflies.

For the card base I used Whisper White card stock and next a layer of the bright and happy Strawberry Slush. I Embossed the sun image from Kinda Eclectic with gold embossing powder and then stamped the leaves image with Mossy Meadow - stamped off once each time.
Both the butterflies from the set fit with punches which makes them so easy to cut out and I used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to make the Tag, stamping the dots image with Encore Gold ink before adding the butterfly :-)

Card stock: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Inks: Versamark, Mossy Meadow, Strawberry Slush, Encore Gold
Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, Bloom With Hope ( Hostess)
Accessories: Paper Doilies, Gold Embossing Powder, Tag Topper Punch, Basic Pearls

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today and I hope you enjoy seeing all the Design Team cards and the Bog Candy for this week's 100th Sketch at the Paper Craft Crew this week.

Happy stamping until next time,

Bloom with Hope ( Sneak Peek)

Welcome to another Wonderful Wednesday! Today's card is for a special friend who is travelling to say good bye to a family member. Such a sad time but so nice to be able to make a card especially for her and the family :-)
And I used this week's sketch at The Paper Craft Crew. I do hope you have time to check out all the wonderful samples the Design Team have made to inspire you this week. Here is the sketch :-)

And here is my card featuring a Sneak Peak of one of the new Hostess stamp sets in the new Annual Catalogue:

Ok… so there is more than just the stamp set that is new and up coming :-)

The beautiful DSP is from the Lullaby pack and the stamp is stamped in Tuxedo Memento black ink and then coloured with the new Blendibilities markers - and they are such fun to use! I am not a colourist usually so if I can make this look ok, anyone can :-) Oh and the stamp set is called Bloom with Hope and comes with several images and greetings so is really worthwhile and I can see I am going to get a lot of use out of it.
For this card, I coloured and then cut out the largest flower and added to some Whisper white card. I did use the Banner framelits for the largest banner and then cut the smaller one by hand to blend in with the other layers.
The greeting is from the same stamp set and is punched with the 13/8 punch and then the 11/4 punch for the Coastal cabana layer.
Because I wanted the flower to be the focus for the card, I decided to scatter the "3 circles" part of the sketch and used some blue sequins that go so well with this pretty DSP.

Card stock: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana
Designer Series Paper: Lullaby
Inks: Memento Black Tuxedo, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight  Blendabilities markers
Stamps: Bloom With Hope ( Hostess)
Accessories: Big Shot, Banner Framelits, 13/8 and 11/4" circle punches, Blue sequins (Non-SU)

So I hope you have time to check out the wonderful cards by the Design Team this week at the Paper Craft Crew and look forward to seeing what you create for this challenge too!

Now for anyone wondering how our Sally is doing….she will be having surgery on both her knees tomorrow- whilst she initially was limping on the Right leg, her Left cruciate ligament has also torn so in order for her to get back to playing with her best mate she will need an involved procedure on that as well as a small procedure on the Right. So I expect late and rather sleepless nights ahead for a little while but am so grateful to all our friends for their kind thoughts and support. And soon our fun loving girl should be back ready to play with her best friend again!

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan
