Happiness Abounds Birthday for JAI #663

Hello, happy Friday to you and welcome! It is almost the end of July and now the days are noticeably longer. Yes, it has been cold but hopefully the warmer days are coming soon. It is perfect weather to spend a little time in the craft room so hopefully you enjoy this challenge we have, it's JAI 665.

This week at Just Add Ink we have a fun Choose Two Challenge for you suggested by Tina. You can choose between Flowers, Gingham or splatter. As always our lovely design team have all created a beautiful array of cards over on the JAI blog for inspiration.    We'd love you to join us!

So you can see that I chose Flowers and Gingham for my Two items.
The flowers were fussy cut from DSP and the gingham I stencilled using ink and the Artistic Mix masks.

I had intended to colour the lovely images from the Happiness Abounds set myself but these flowers are coloured so beautifully that they cried out to be used. I love how the shading is added and so it really is a case of deciding how to arrange and display these.

Granny Apple Green is sponged through the mask to create the gingham effect. It is not a colour that I'm used to using but it is in the leaves in the DSP and it is good to use challenges to try new things whether that be colours or techniques - whatever that may be.

Thank you for stoping by.  I hope that you might be inspired to join us for this challenge and I look forward to seeing what you choose for your Two items and what you will create for this challenge!

Card stock: Granny Apple Green, Basic White, Basic Black, Gold Foil
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Versamark
Stamps: Well Said
Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Well Written Dies, Artistic Masks, White EP,  Gold Faceted Gems, Metallic Sequins Assortment.

'Til next time,
Jan

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            you.

Pastel Happiness for JAI #653

Happy Friday everyone and welcome back! It is mid May and a very chilly Autumn indeed. Already we are seeing Mid- Winter temperatures and lots of rain. We've missed the last two weeks of horse riding with Riding For the Disabled because of it. Hopefully we will be able to resume our favourite new exercise soon. But in the meantime, we have a lovely new challenge to share with you first.

This week at Just Add Ink we have a pretty and potentially very cute Challenge for you from the lovely Niki!
Choose Two from Pastels, Banner and Baby and we hope that you have a lot of fun too!
Our design team have created a wonderful collection of cards to inspire you so we really hope that you might join us and look forward to seeing which Two of the challenge items that you choose to create with.

I chose Pastels and Banner and created a card suitable for an Engagement or perhaps a Wedding.
The Blooms and the leaves are all in soft pastel colours and the sentiment is turned into a large banner.

Usually, I will colour with a lot more depth added when using Blends or Copics. But this time we are focusing on pastel colours, so I let the softness of the colours be the stars and only added minimal shading.

The sentiment on the banner is from the Charming Sentiments Bundle and embossed in Gold.

A touch of ribbon and twine under the banner and gold sequins on top add finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope that you can pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog and we'd love you to join us. With the weather getting cooler it is the perfect excuse to spend some time indoors in a craft space and I look forward to seeing what you will create for this week's challenge.

Card stock: Basic White (Thick and standard)
Ink: Versamark, Momento Tuxedo Black. Blends /Copics
Stamps: Charming Sentiments, Happiness Abounds (Retiring)
Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Blossiming Happiness Dies, Gold EP,  Metallic Sequin Assortment, Ribbon and Twine.

'Til next time,
Jan

JAI #641 Happiness Birthday

Happy Friday everyone and welcome! It's the last Friday in February, last Friday of Summer. That seems to have gone so fast although it has been quite warm to make up for the shorter time.

It's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week we have a beautiful Inspiration Photo from Nikki.
Beaches and Summer go hand in hand. The salty, fresh breezes and gentle, warm water are so lovely and relaxing! I just love to walk along the water's edge and watch Sally my Labrador walk through the water - she does this slow  'high kick" walk with her back legs that is quite hilarious but she is so happy! What do you do at the beach?
The design team have all created a beautiful array of cards to inspire you. So I hope that you can take a moment and go and have a peek as we would love you to join us!

My card for this challenge was inspired by the colours in the Photo. I picked up on the blues in the sea. the tones in the sand and yellow in the shells to create a Birthday card.
The card is coloured using  Zig Brush tip watercolor markers. These have been languishing in my craft room for too long so it was lovely to give them a workout. Zigs have vibrant colour that softened using a water painter.

Using Water color paper, I embossed the images using Black EP and added a little water to a section using my water painter before adding a little colour with a Zig marker. Then the water painter helped move the colour around - a little or a lot. And then I was able to drop in some darker colours to add depth.

The Happiness Abounds bundle is beautiful to colour and there are dies to cut out all the pieces and then it is just a bit like floral lego to work out what pieces go where! This sentiment is from another floral beauty, Artistically Inked and a scattering of rhinestones complete this card.

Thanks for popping by today! I hope that you were inspired to have a look over at Just Add Ink and join us for this week's challenge. I look forward to seeing what you will create!

'Til next time,

Jan

JAI #620 Inspiration Eclipse Card

Hi there and welcome!! It's the second Friday in September and Spring has sprung! Our garden is full of pretty flowers and so it seemed the perfect time to add these to a card as well.

This week at Just Add Ink we have this stunning Inspiration Photo from Nikki to inspire our crafting projects. As always, our design team have created a wide variety of projects to inspire you and we'd love for your to join us.

For my card this week, I chose to highlight the beautiful Hues of Happiness DSP.
Like the Inspiration Photo, it has a navy base and it has a mass of flowers - and this piece has yellow and light blue ones.

It's easier to see in this photo that the yellow and blue floral images have been fussy cut and added with dimensionals over the DSP. Rhinestones have been added to the centre of each flower and the sentiment has been eased in between the raised flowers.
There really is very little stamping involved on this card - paper snips are the main tool, cutting out all the yellow and blue flowers by hand as they are a little different shapes and sizes than the stamp images. But it is worth it.

Card stock: Night of Navy, Whisper White
DSP: Hues of Happiness
Stamps: Well Said
Inks: Versamark
Accessories: Die Cutting Machine, Well Worded Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, White EP, Basic Rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to the Just Add Ink page as we'd love for you to join us.

JAI #608 Happiness Abounds Thanks

Happy Friday everyone and welcome!  It's almost the Shortest Day here in the Southern Hemisphere and that is the darkest day in Winter, after that it is all getting lighter towards Spring! As it's been pretty chilly lately here in Melbourne, looking ahead to Spring is a welcome thought.

This week at Just Add Ink we have a fresh and bright Colour Challenge for you from Rochelle.
Our design team have a beautiful array of cards to share with you for inspiration. I hope that you can take a moment to pop on over to the blog and take a peek and hopefully join us.

For my card this week I chose to use the new Happiness Abounds bundle and create a "Thanks" card.
The images are coloured with a combination of Blends and Copics in the challenge colours finished with Wink of Stella.
Oranges, yellows and Very Vanilla are all not colours I routinely turn to but I'm liking the result.
These images are lovely to colour.

As part of the Blossoming Happiness Dies is an interesting background pattern die. It seemed perfect to team with some black card stock behind it to help the small cut design pieces to shine.
Some gold touches in the foil, twine and sequins and this card is ready to send.

Card stock; Basic Grey, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Gold Foil, Vellum
Inks: Versamark, Momento Tuxedo Black, Blends
Stamps: Happiness Abounds
Accessories: Die Cutting machine, Blossoming Happiness Dies, White EP, Wink of Stella, Gold natural twine, Metallic Sequins Assortment.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you can take the time to hop on over to Just Add Ink and we'd love you to join us for the challenge.
