JAI #618 Birthday Colours

Happy Friday everyone and welcome!! It is the last week of Winter and like so many, I am soooo looking forward to Spring!! It is always my favourite time of year - when the blossoms are on the trees, the garden bursts into flower and we can plan what to put in the veggie garden for Summer. What are you looking forward to this Spring - or Autumn whatever side of the Equator you are on. 😊

This week at Just Add Ink we have a Colour Challenge suggested by Jo. The colours are ones everyone should have as part of their collection and so we'd really love you to join us! Our design team have created a fabulous and varied array of inspiration for you to show how versatile this combo is so I hope you can pop on over and have a look.

I thought these colours would make a great a guy card. The Biggest Wish stamp is one I haven't used as much as I thought I would. But I've now discovered a trick to lining it up that will see me use it a lot more.

You may know this - or like me, you may not. But when using the Stamparatus....stamp the image and move the clear plate down two steps and stamp again - and repeat. This will give you alternate stamped words!!!!!!
Then all you need to do is line up again to do the second word - and moving down two steps each time will fill in the gaps! It really was a game changer for me and made lining up the words on this card sooo much easier than stopping and lining things up one word at a time which was time consuming and risky.

To complete the card it was time for some die cutting after all that intensive stamping. The Happy Dies for the balloons - plain card stock underneath them gives them more strength and dimension - and the Well Worded dies for the sentiment. A sprinkling of sequins and this simple but effective guy card is complete.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team and entries and I look forward to seeing what you will create with these versatile colours.

Just Add Ink Blog Hop Challenge #537 Family!

Happy Friday and welcome everyone!! The festive holidays are over and the Summer is just starting to heat up here in Australia. So that must mean it's time to kick of the Just Add Ink Challenge year with a fun Blog Hop!!

For the first Just Add Ink challenge of 2021 we would like you to just add Family!
Over the last year it has been a time when family has been on our minds and hearts like no other. Spending time with, missing and worrying about family has been a huge thing for many. So this is a chance to create with family in mind and we hope that you will join us!!

And to inspire you, we have our annual JAI Design Team Blog Hop for you to enjoy and help get those creative juices going. You may have just arrived from the lovely Lou Kitzelman's  gorgeous project or you can start here and just click on the Next button at the end of each post. If you get lost along the way you can click on the Challenge graphic to be taken back to the JAI blog.

I have 3 gorgeous Niece's and one fab Nephew whose birthdays all fall in the first 4 months of the year and so January and February especially are full of family birthdays for us. This card is for one of the older girls - who all fall between 6 and about to be 10yrs.  I've used the Happy Dies as a basis for a fun shaker card. The only problem with using these dies to create a shaker card is that is cuts the portrait sides of the card stock. So you might be able to see where I carefully cut and added strips at the sides to hide the foam adhesive needed to contain the fun sprinkles.

There is one Saleabration item used on this card too. Can you find it? It might be a little difficult to tell but I've used a page of Bermuda Bay from the Oh So Ombre DSP stack behind the top white layer. The simple block colouring allows a great contrast for the pinks of the shaker sprinkles.

Next you are off to see the lovely Joanne Stubbings and her fabulous project that I am sure you will love!
I hope you enjoy all the design team's projects along the way and I look forward to see what family projects you are inspired to create for this challenge. If you get lost just click on the challenge graphic to go to the Challenge blog for a list of all the team.
