Wedding for The Paper Craft Crew

This Wednesday it is so nice to see the sun after several days of grey skies. It certainly does feel more like Winter than Autumn that is for sure but it is amazing the difference that a sunny day can make! Sally (the Lab) was so keen on getting out on our walk on time today and we both had a lovely time at the Park although the frost was still visible on the grass that was in the shade.

And as it is Wednesday it is also time for a new sketch from The Paper Craft Crew. The Design Team have created a great variety of cards to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and take a look.

Here is this week's sketch:

And here is what I made with it :-)

Yes, it's a wedding card - for a very good friend in New Zealand who got married on ANZAC Day :-)
The gown was a stunning shoulder less and figure hugging gold satin covered in cream lace flowers which this DSP reminds me of. And pink has always been a favourite colour and the bridesmaids wore a slightly lighter shade than the hearts here but of a similar tone. I wish I could share some photos with you - but not quite yet :-)

Card stock: Brushed Gold, Gold Glimmer Paper, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Something Borrowed
Inks: Versamark, Blushing Bride
Stamps: For The New Two, Hearts a Flutter (Retiring)
Accessories: Big Shot, Starbursts Framelits (retiring),Hearts a Flutter Framelits (Retiring), Hexagon Punch, White EP, Vanilla Flower Trim, Basic Pearls

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to pop on over to The Paper Craft Crew and see all the cards the Team have made to inspire you. And for all those off to Convention this weekend I hope you have a wonderful time sharing with friends old and new and playing with some fun new toys too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Just Add Ink #260 - A Sketch

This week has sped past really quickly - I'm sure we all have days that seem to disappear before our very eyes under the list of things to be done:-) The Stampin' Up! Inspire Create Share event is beginning on the Gold Coast this coming week and many of the Just Add Ink Team are going of course (although sadly I'm not able to make it this time) as it's always an amazing time of sharing, stamping and enjoying new products  :-)

So this week's fabulous Sketch that Narelle has suggested for us will last for TWO weeks!! So if you too are going to the Goldie you still have time to play  :-) And the Team at  Just Add Ink  have created a great variety of cards to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment and pop on one to take a look.

Here is the sketch:

And here is what I made with it :-)

We have a few family birthdays coming up so I couldn't resist the opportunity of another Birthday card - and the fun Celebrate Today balloon seemed perfect for the circle element of the sketch. I chose my colours to go with the wonderful Gold Soiree DSP  :-)   I am thinking I will make at least another with this sketch and possibly the same colour combo from the DSP swapped around - after all there is two weeks to play and it is a great classic sketch  ;-)

Card stock: Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy
Designer Series Paper: Gold Soiree
Inks: Tangerine Tango, Versamark
Stamps: Celebrate Today
Accessories: Big Shot, Balloon Framelits, Large Polka Dots EF, Gold EP, Hexagon Punch, Gold Twine

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink to see the wonderful creations the Team have made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this sketch over the next two weeks too :-)

Happy stamping until next time,

Something for Baby PCCCSC 141

Welcome to Winter in Melbourne - or so it feels!! But as Sydney and surrounding areas are currently underwater thanks to a huge deluge of rain we can not complain! Over 300mm of rain in a day has caused rivers to rise quickly and flooding is rampant across New South Wales.
But here in Melbourne, we have had a sunny morning that became a grey and cold afternoon and I suspect the temperature will be down to single digits overnight again.

And as it's Wednesday it's time for another sketch from The Paper Craft Crew. I hope you have a moment to pop on over and see all great ideas the Team has come up with to inspire you this week.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card :

This was a sketch I did find quite tricky and so a real challenge!! But then we all appreciate how a good challenge can stretch us and help us grow as crafters don't we :-)

Card stock: Pool Party, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Best Year Ever ( Saleabration)
Inks: Crushed Curry, Pool Party
Stamps: Something for Baby, Baby We've Grown
Accessories: Big Shot, Baby's First Framelits, Postage Stamp Punch, 1/14" Square Punch, White Cotton Twine, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to pop on over to The Paper Craft Crew and see what the rest of the Team has made to inspire you and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this sketch too.

Happy stamping until next time,

Just Add Sequins JAI #259

Well it is well and truly Autumn - there are leaves falling from the trees in their hundreds (or maybe even thousands?) I am not entirely sure but they are at least ankle deep and the "blowers' brigade is often out and about of late :-) Ido love how the trees change colour BEFORE they lose their leaves though - that is so pretty!

Talking of "pretty"…we have a wonderfully fun and pretty Challenge for you this week at Just Add Ink :-) Patrice has suggested we "Just Add Sequins"! So I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and see all the wonderful ideas the Team created to inspire you this week with this fun theme.

As for me…well,  this was always going to be a shaker card -  simply because I do love them as they are so much fun - both to make and to receive :-) I am sure that others can make better ones than I do too! For this one I wanted to keep it a little masculine for my nephew's upcoming birthday.

So I've used the fun Celebrate Today set and co-ordinating balloon framelits for the main image and to hide the Shaker  Frames adhesive I cut a larger circle underneath the white layer using the circle framelits :-)

Card stock: Night of Navy, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Gold Soiree
Inks: Bermuda Bay, Not Quite Navy
Stamps: Celebrate Today
Accessories: Big Shot, Balloon and Circle Framelits, Window Sheets, Coastal Cabana Twine, Non SU Blue, Orange and Silver sequins

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the lovely creations the Team have made to inspire you and I am so looking forward to seeing what you will create with sequins this week too!

Happy stamping until next week,

Starburst Sayings and World Map

Today began with a thunder storm that had Sally the Lab shivering and shaking with fear - but it didn't last long and soon the sun was out and we headed to the Park before the temperature hit a lovely 28 degrees Celsius - very warm for this time of year but we are not complaining :-)

And being Wednesday it is time for another sketch from The Paper Craft Crew. The team have made a great variety of projects to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment and pop on over to check them out. Here is the sketch:

And here's what I made this week:

Something a little bit different! I wanted to team up the sunburst sayings sentiment with the World Map and so have gone ahead with that but it didn't quite turn out how I imagined it.

Card stock: Lost Lagoon, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Inks: Lost Lagoon, Strawberry Slush, Versamark
Stamps: Starburst Sayings, World Map
Accessories: Big Shot, Starburst and Circle Framelits, And Heart Framelits, White EP, Banner Punch, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to pop on over and see what the rest of the Team have made to inspire you this week at The Paper Craft Crew. And I look forward to seeing what you will make with the sketch too :-)

Happy stamping until next week,

Just Add a Colour Challenge - JAI #258

This week I am sure I am not the only one waking up in the morning thinking I must've slept through my alarm only to discover there is at least half an hour before it is due to go off  - Daylight Savings finished just under a week ago. And while the added daylight in the morning is lovely the opposite is also sadly true of the evenings of course - winter is a coming!

And so its perfect timing that Rochelle has suggested a bright and beautiful Colour Challenge for us all at Just Add Ink :-) The Team have come up with a great array of beautiful creations with these colours to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and have a look :-)

Such a lot of potential girly loveliness don't you think?

This came out a little brighter than I expected but it still is very "girly"  :-)
The Bokeh background uses all three colours sponged onto Whisper White and once dry I used a home made stencil (created by using the circle framelits on some Window Sheet) to help with positioning the white inked circles. And after again giving it time to dry added the details and sentiment  - in this case on some Vellum :-)

Card stock: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White, Vellum Card stock, Window sheet
Inks: Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Smoky Slate, Craft White
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Sassy Salutations
Accessories: Big Shot, Butterfly Framelits, Circle Framelits, Basic rhinestones, PL Corner Rounder punch, Blackberry Bliss cotton twine (Saleabration)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and take a look at all the wonderful creations the Team have made to inspire you this week and I look forward to seeing what you will create with these gorgeous colours too!

Happy stamping until next time,

Little Sunshine for the Paper Craft Crew

Welcome to a wet -ish Wednesday in Melbourne - maybe it's partly because Daylight Savings finished last weekend that it seems a lot wetter and colder lately? But I suspect it's more to do with us now being in the middle month of Autumn :-( Already the central heating is being used in the early mornings and the electric blanket is on the bed again too. I don't mind Autumn but am not looking forward to Winter.

But on a cheery note, it's time for another sketch from  The Paper Craft Crew! The Team have created a great variety of cards to inspire you this week so I hope you can take a moment and pop on over and check them out.

Now I have a friend expecting Baby number 4 - and in true 4th baby style, there is no indication as yet as to whether pink or blue will be needed. So I can only be 50% right or wrong with this card :-)

So I have used a mixture of Lost Lagoon Pool Party and some of the fun Saleabration DSP to go with the Little Sunshine stamp set.

Card stock: Lost Lagoon, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Best Year Ever (Saleabration )
Inks: Pool Party, Lost Lagoon
Stamps: Little Sunshine
Accessories: Big Shot, Balloon Framelits, Large Polka Dots EF, PL Corner rounder punch, Lost Lagoon ribbon and White cotton twine, Sweet Dreams Designer Buttons, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a moment to pop on over to The Paper Craft Crew and see all the varied creations the Team have made with this sketch and I look forward to seeing what you too will create with this sketch.

Happy stamping until next time,

Happy Easter and a Butterfly Birthday

Happy Easter to you!! I hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing Easter weekend!! We had a gorgeous day yesterday - the forecast showers didn't eventuate and it was still warm enough for short sleeves :-) After a busy few days  - that went very well phew!! -  it was lovely to take some time to relax and recharge the batteries and catch up with friends and family.

And here is a card that was made for a lovely new friend's recent birthday :-)
For inspiration I used last week's sketch from Just Add Ink - you can see the original post with card and  sketch here.

The gold butterfly is the star here with a little sponging of Pistachio Pudding ink underneath. The pom poms added for a little texture and fun :-) I hope she likes it.

Card stock: Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper: Gold Soiree
Inks: Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Big Shot, Butterfly Framelits, Starburst Framelits, Angled Tag Topper Punch, Calypso coral Pom Pom Trim and Seam Binding, Gold Twine

Easter is of course synonymous with chocolate and I do love that we are allowed to indulge our love of it a bit without the usual guilt LOL!! But I did receive this awesome little box of cupcakes from a lovely friend too that I just have to show you - they look too good to eat!!

Wow!! Aren't these just the cutest?!

Such a lot of detail in the grass and nests and the cutest little eggs.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you are having a wonderfully relaxing long weekend full of fun and laughter and good (and not so ) food :-)  Feels like a good time for a dog walk for me lol!

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan
