Rainbow Happy Birthday for JAI #420

Happy Friday everyone and welcome! Winter is officially 2/3 down and only one month to go - Hip hip hooray!! Slowly but surely, the days are getting longer again and it won't be too long now til we will be welcoming Spring :-)

Yes, it's time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week we have this fabulous and vibrant Inspiration Photo from Nikki for us all to use in our projects. Yet again, our design team have created absolutely gorgeous projects to inspire you so I hope you can take a moment to pop on over and take a look and we'd love you to join us.

Of course, I absolutely adore the vibrancy of this image and the circular shape was something that stood out to me too so that was what inspired my card.
Using one of the lovely Pattern Party masks, I inked up spatula after spatula of Embossing Paste with different re-inkers and had fun spreading the love - and paste - around :-)

To complete the card, I used the Happy Birthday thinlits with a mixture of Whisper White and Melon Mambo card. Then this was layered over a vellum circle to continue the theme and all was smothered in Fine Tip Glue Pen for some shine and dimension.

A sprinkling of sequins of different sizes and this bright and happy, no stamping needed card is ready to go in the mail!

Card stock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Vellum
Inks(re-inkers): Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss,
Accessories: Big Shot, Happy Birthday Thinlits,  Stitched Shapes Framelits, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Embossing Paste, Pattern Party Decorative Masks, Fine Tip Glue Pen,
Non SU: Crystal Reflections Sequins (SSS), Water colour Card Stock (TH/ Ranger)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can take a moment to pop on over to Just Add Ink and see all the wonderful inspiration from our lovely design team and I look forward to seeing what you will create with this beautiful Inspiration Photo too.

Happy stamping until next time,

Sea Street Shaker

Welcome to a chilly Sunday evening in Melbourne. A real Four seasons in One day kind of day - just like we are famous for having :-) And so when the rain started it was the perfect time to join in some challenges and make a card - now that we have a little more time with Sally the dog needing less intensive nursing :-)

Today's card is for TWO challenges :  to "Just Add a shaker" at Just Add Ink and the fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is the card:

Doesn't the DSP just look like little waves?

In retrospect the window could've been a little higher….hence I felt the need to add the Twine to the top of the card.

The window is filled with a little mixture of Dazzling Diamonds glitter and some silver and blue sequins. And the little fish are stamped to replicate one of the layers in the sketch.

Card stock: Real Red, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Maritime
Inks: Island Indigo, Coastal Cabana, Real Red
Stamps: Sea Street, Happiest Birthday (Retired)
Accessories: Circle Framelits, Hexagon punch, Acetate sheet, Coastal Cabana Twine, Dazzling Diamonds, Silver and blue sequins (Non-SU)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today and I hope you have time to check out the two challenge blogs for inspiration as they have some amazing cards for you : Just Add Ink and Freshly Made Sketches.

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan

Blue and White for the Paper Craft Crew

Its a beautiful Autumn day here in Melbourne today - a little crispy this morning but bright and sunny! The schools are on holiday and its sort of a relaxed time as we gear up for Easter.
And today being Wednesday, its time for another sketch from the Paper Craft Crew.

For my card I decided to use some of the Polka Dot Parade DSP before it retires soon (and I will miss it!) and also the wonderful Square framelits  -  so that was my starting point from the sketch.

And also because of the square frame, I decided to make this a square card to match it :-)

For the card base I used Marina Mist and then layered the Whisper White with the DSP on top. To cut the Frame I layered the Framelits on the beautiful Silver Foil card stock inside each other and then I used some dimensionals to pop it up onto a square of White cut with the largest of the two framelits I used. The prettyTulips were each stamped twice and hand cut and added with dimensionals between them and the soft Organza ribbon just literally ties the bunch together :-)
I think this greeting is my favourite Birthday stamp still - such a shame it is retired!! To flag the end of the banner I used my Hexagon punch as I find it so much easier than trying to cut by hand!! Simply measure the width of the banner and place a little pencil mark at half way, and slide the mark into one of the corners on the punch and you have perfect flags every time :-)
Finally, I added three little rhinestones inside the bottom corner of the frame and two to the banner as I do love a little Bling!!

Card stock: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Silver Foil Card
Designer Series Paper: Polka Dot Parade
Inks: Marina Mist, Gumball Green
Stamps: Simple Stems, Happiest Birthday Wishes ( Retired)
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Framelits, Hexagon Punch, Decorative Dots EF, White Organza Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones

Now I'm thinking I might just have to make another of these soon for Mother's Day…its not that far way!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and  I hope you have time to check out all the cards from the talented Designers and join in the fun this week with the Paper Craft Crew :-)

Happy stamping until next time,

Jan
